Your question is a valid one. Unfortunately the Talmud was never meant to be "divine scripture", it was meant and is seen in its format as commentary. Much of the Moed Kattan was written in the 10th to the 13th CE. If you let Torah be your guide, then you can discern between what is Opinion and what is Crap.

Actually, no. The Torah is only the first Five books (Gensis to Exodus, I believe). There's also Kings, Prophets, etc. This is all part of the Tanakh. So, really:
Tanakh= Old Testament.
However, I do know that some of the books of Judges are switched in the Bible in order to fit the timeline (or something, that's my best guess) to Jesus better for some reason or another, so for Jews it is not the true Tanakh.

I preface this by saying that I am an atheist. Were I religious and drawn to an Abrahamic religion, the obvious choice would be to convert to Judaism. Even if I believed in the divinity of Jesus, I'd become a Messianic Jew.
Jesus was a Jew every day of his life. Neither he nor his apostles ever said not to follow Jewish law. Paul made up Christianity on his own. It is NOT the teachings of Jesus.
