  • TULSA'S FINEST!!!

  • Charlie Wilson gave birth to a straight lineup of singing superstars if you think about it....Aaron Hall of Guy, R. Kelly, Montell Jordan, Sisqo from Dru Hill, Anthony Hamilton......all of them have the same Wilson singing style (at least early on in their careers).

Btw, what better skating music than Gap Band?

  • One of my absolute favs!! Uncle Charlie & the Gap Bank you are the greatest!!!

  • Did we really think those outfits were cool back then? I guess we did.....

  • @kimmie6209 I think it's cool as hell now.....It would be swag in modern times.

  • The drummer looks good

  • funked up-know I love it. What happen to the SOUL in music these days????

  • Dope ass crazy rhinestone cowboys! Yee ha!

  • @flicburns Tulsa, Oklahoma's Finest Baby!!!

  • Man....I was in Fort Knox Kentucky for basic training when this song was so popular. Anyone that was there let me know. I was in Bravo 15Battalion 4th Brigaid for and loved to go the Fort Lee Virginia for the club scene. That 8 weeks went by so fast.....Beside the push ups . I have fond memories and will cherish them forever!

  • RIP Robert!

  • My mama was in love with her some Charlie Wilson. I remember watching this episode of American Bandstand with her and how damn excited she was. She STILL loves his ass. They'on make music like this anymore

  • Este sim é o velho e bom funk!

  • I loved the Gap Band as a kind. Still do. This is one of my favorite songs by them.

  • I still rock to this and I am almost 60!! Bad jam

  • @Cyrisse125 Me too!!! my favorite old school jam--the percussion in the background, the beat the vocals it's alll there and the words. What woman wouldn't want to hear a man say those words. The best music was made in our time--rock soul and pop I'm 50 and the young'uns are still trying to recreate what our generations already did!!!!!!!!

  • @Cyrisse125 I'm almost 40 and this jam is crucial. My 28yo girlfriend digs it too

  • what are the chords to this song? does anyone know?

  • UNCLE CHARLIE!!!!!

  • I grown up listening to Gap band, Bar kays, Midnight Star and all the great Funk and Orignal Hip-Hop Artist! Hatley's Skating Rink, the best damn days of my life were on that oval in the town of Monroe, NC! So glad my parents opened me up to this kind of music!

  • back in the day when brothers rocked glitter cowboy outfits..nigga thats badass! I can dig it!!

  • this was the SH*T at the rink...you'll know you'll know...this was when music was music DAYUM !!!

  • I dont like this song. I loooove this song!!!!!!!

  • A friend said this song reminded him of me........I was choked!!!

  • 1 person dont know what real music is

  • Awesome song! I was lucky enough to find the 7" last week ;) x

  • The Gap Band, one of my all time favorites.

  • @afrikanbuttafly man i feel ya I'm 16 and the 70s and 80s is all i listen to, can't get enough of it

  • @afrikanbuttafly agree with you I can relate.

  • Quality performance!

  • Those outfits man..hahaha..i wish i had them fucking hats.

  • vocally speaking this group was one of the best. I remember my mom playing there music when I was growing up. They really need t get some recognition.

  • i miss flashy brothers singing tight songs like these..

It's all about rap or some ne-yo crap now.

  • Great song!!! from miami

  • i dont like this version!!!!!!

  • out of Tulsa, ok.

  • Whatever became of Uncle Charlie..oh he has a sucessful recording career..

  • They should've performed the 12 inch version which was funkier and more up to date. They did that version on Soul Train, so why they did'nt do it on AB?

  • @soulchildsacomin

Oh no, the regular version is best, especially with those horns which was removed on the 12 inch. I actually hate that the 12 inch version is what is played on r&b stations across the country, listen to those horns right before the chorus......sweet, gives it punch!

  • probably one of the few rare moments when they let the band play live.

  • " YOU blow my mind . I feel alive :D "
