Charlie Wilson gave birth to a straight lineup of singing superstars if you think about it....Aaron Hall of Guy, R. Kelly, Montell Jordan, Sisqo from Dru Hill, Anthony Hamilton......all of them have the same Wilson singing style (at least early on in their careers).
Man....I was in Fort Knox Kentucky for basic training when this song was so popular. Anyone that was there let me know. I was in Bravo 15Battalion 4th Brigaid for and loved to go the Fort Lee Virginia for the club scene. That 8 weeks went by so fast.....Beside the push ups . I have fond memories and will cherish them forever!
My mama was in love with her some Charlie Wilson. I remember watching this episode of American Bandstand with her and how damn excited she was. She STILL loves his ass. They'on make music like this anymore
@Cyrisse125 Me too!!! my favorite old school jam--the percussion in the background, the beat the vocals it's alll there and the words. What woman wouldn't want to hear a man say those words. The best music was made in our time--rock soul and pop I'm 50 and the young'uns are still trying to recreate what our generations already did!!!!!!!!
I grown up listening to Gap band, Bar kays, Midnight Star and all the great Funk and Orignal Hip-Hop Artist! Hatley's Skating Rink, the best damn days of my life were on that oval in the town of Monroe, NC! So glad my parents opened me up to this kind of music!
vocally speaking this group was one of the best. I remember my mom playing there music when I was growing up. They really need t get some recognition.
They should've performed the 12 inch version which was funkier and more up to date. They did that version on Soul Train, so why they did'nt do it on AB?
Oh no, the regular version is best, especially with those horns which was removed on the 12 inch. I actually hate that the 12 inch version is what is played on r&b stations across the country, listen to those horns right before the chorus......sweet, gives it punch!
