  • Can anyone tell me what the gradient is ? thanks.I even felt the strain !

  • @qzyfdkr Isn't it obvious??

  • I really didn't think preservation could be as good as this ! A really gritty performance, and if anybody thinks that 8Fs attacking banks in Dorset is just a piece of theatre, I can remember one coming out of Poole and going up Parkstone Bank with a pigeon special from the S&D.

  • 4 people didn't like this. Strange?

  • @globalaffair To be honest I don't care who dislikes my films now, in the end its the more positive feedback that matters i.e. good comments and reactions. Its probably just a few jealous youngsters

  • That is what 8Fs were made for, and it is probably thinking of the days spent slogging up to Peak Forest.

  • @TheMiserablegit Yes it has brang back memories to some who remember these beefy beasts, this one will be memorable for sure

  • 10/10 matey !!! Excellent framing and no faffing about, just how a video should be done !!!!

  • @1teaboy ahaha cheers mate I somethines think that "no faffing or arsing around" I did what I could in the end to provide the results

  • Great video, that loco is a brilliant performer and must have gained a whole new army of fans with some great performances on the Southern tracks.

  • Oh yes, 8Fs were built for slogging up banks, magic, cheers.

  • Fantastic sound

  • fantastic sound 5 stars

  • EXCELLENT 5X

  • Great video, 48151 is definitely "King of the Mountains", what a great climber, so sure footed! Thanks for great pictures and sound.

  • An 8F doing what it does best. Fantastic!

  • Wonderful sight and sound, Regards, John

  • Congratulations, greetings from Sicily.

  • @poseidon116 much obliged :)

  • Great, thanks for sharing with us!!

  • A truly amazing sequence Ryan...you captured it brilliantly..what a loco this is...fantastic performer, even having a full head of steam as she climbed Upway Bank......Thanks for that...Bob

  • @robmasterman I've heard a few soundtracks of this mighty beauty but never seen her tackle such a steep climb, so I'd say we were really in for this :D

  • Steam to spare too! A brave and rousing performance.

  • @984francis and for deffinate shows defiance

  • Superb pictures and, it’s your trademark, a magnificent sound.

  • @collieultimo thank you again for showing great support. As mentioned before I use a stereo condenser microphone which is really good at picking up suroundind sounds in any directions, it also makes the sound more broader than many films you see on youtube

  • A great sight AND sound!

  • @churchward82c I had two words to say after hearing the soundtrack wearing the headphones "Christ alive!"

  • A wonderful video. Great stuff. Nothing like the sound of a steam engine working flat-out.

  • Great stuff Ryan, a real treat for the ears, I'm sure it must have sounded even better 'live'. 48151 is such a reliable performer wherever she goes.

  • @acw71000 Thank you for commenting. Unfortunately I didn't hear it as well as I was wearing ear protectors to prevent anything jumpy in the shot as I'm very sensitive to anything that might make me jump. But yes I like 48151 now that I've seen her for the first time

  • Great video. What a slog it was! An outstanding and moving day with 48151 and 34067. The sound of that Bulleid whistle as Tangmere raced through stations in the suburbs brought a lump to the throat. And 48151 did not disappoint either putting on this superb show on Upwey and later storming up Evershot bank. What a day, a fitting memorial to the end of SR steam.

  • @hurleyfunbags Thank you again for commenting, I did get Tangmere that day on some other spots but my main objective was to get the 8F going up Upwey, I've seen Nunney Castle slog up Upwey but certainly not an LMS 8F which would fetch Steam Dreams some good customers hopefully

  • Fanastic Shot, Another steam loco ran up the upway bank second time in preservation i beleive, its an damn good noise to hear it slogging up the 1in50, She doing what she is built for not the passenger train but climbing up a hill with no banker just Brillant liked and favourite that one, Cheers Tom

  • @BristolCastle Thank you again, I've always wanted to see a different kind of engine tackle Upwey, 48151 was a real performer to do so

  • Great video again. Always liked the drive down to Weymouth on the A354 but I see from Google Earth that there is now a new road. I wondered why there was no traffic noise from the bridge.

  • @VHKDK Thats correct because the new road has been built the old road to weymouth is now closed off although you can still get access there just means finding your way there

  • Brilliant sound of her working hard. Great location. "liked"

  • Magnificent ! Takes me back to the early 1960s standing on the platform at Peak Forest and feeling it shake as an 8F blasted past on the I.C.I. hoppers from Tunstead.

  • @jet936 I agree with you there that 8F can really send sound waves right at you when that close. It was my first time seeing this engine aswell
