For whatever reason i always think a song like this gets play while the soul is leaving the body and slowly begins the journey back to the source... love it~ txs for posting.
including what i've heard from great sopranos in opereta, i think she carries the greatest voice i've ever heard. she has the ability to reach the heart like no other. the duet she does with denez pregent on the black hawk down soundtrack is simply out of this world.
on the eve of battle...I the great solider, exhausted, the earth beneath me has not yet filled its thirst with blood...i see my brethren, with their wounds and sorrows...i hear their cries, i hear their souls aching for death...i look up and see the darken skies and the Valkyries descending and then I hear this song...
The human voice is THE best instrument. It may not have the same range as other instruments, but it the one instrument we all have in common. It transcends language and thus all of its barriers.
@pauljordon4 I have seen her live with Dead Can Dance in 1996.... It was the most incredible concert experience of my life (and I have seen hundreds of live performances).... And guess what? You may get your chance because Dead Can Dance are touring in 2012!!!!
yeah you're right ... for the first time I had listen to Lisa was Gladiator's soundtrack the song named "sorrow" but I didn't know who she is until I searched.
I love these kind of singing, first was by watching Xena the warrior princess show it's soundtracks and then soundtracks like the movies of Gladiator,Troy, 300, Lord of the Rings, Kingdom of Heaven and etc :)
@zrrzaaa yes I also first recognized it in Xena... I think because of the music loved the sho weven more. It gives things a real ... soul. Yes, I think thats a good metaphor.
