  • Those Computers most likely have a OS Problem, LOL!!!

  • i love blowing up my old computer when they are out of dates ;)

  • No way I am recycling my 8 computers to that plant for the stupid enviorment.

  • @dayspeace they are not good for recycling they are meant for me to upgrade. That is the meaning of computers

  • This is a wonderful information. I did not know computers could be recycled. Good way to help the environment.

  • cool im gona let the parts add up for a long time any kinda chip or what ever save it up and ya.

  • I learned something great today :D

  • I know this video is 3 years old or older but are computer these still made out of gold??? this is very informative btw.

  • Thanks

  • hunt for local jobs online careertaker(dot)info ready to interview

  • What about the aluminium, tin, and lead that's in the computer? Solder is made mainly of tin and lead (some containing small amounts of silver) and capacitors have aluminium casings, and are made of aluminium foil. What happens with these metals from the circuit boards?

  • condoms can reuse too

  • Gold brazing is used for the lines which carry liquid hydrogen because gold is extremely unreactive and very easy to work unlike other metals with similar reactivity.

  • now i see why so many companies out there want to recycle your old computer and buy a new one they are getting rich off us, and all we get is the satisfaction of helping the environment

  • LOL so I have a piece of a cpu in my mouth? that cool.

  • to think my computer wasn't worth anything, time to get rich

  • This was very informative. Thanks.

  • i looked at my PC >.>

  • monitor has diamond too ;D

  • Look at 1:38

  • those people are barbaric, you could use those beautiful computer parts to create a super computer. many super computers, actually, and you can archive the old monitors for future use.

  • ~D:

  • woow how much gold can i extract from a cumputer?

  • @dxxa94

    "cum"puter...

  • now every time you find an old computer, rip out the CPU till you have a good badge and then put 'em into Aqua Regia.. Melt them down and you've got GOLD !

  • have 3 cpu's that i dont use anymore. pentuim 4's, maybe there good for nothing and i could ask someone to extract the gold out. but maybe only little amount will come out.

  • This was amazing! So glad to hear that people are finally recycling these items

  • At Intercon Recycling we have a solution. Instead of throwing harmful computers and other technology into landfills poisoning our earth and water supply, we take a proactive approach recycling 100% of all parts brought to our 250,000 square foot warehouse. We go to huge lengths to make sure you have piece of mind as we transport and disassemble important hard drive information. Email me at Mikejc2200@gmail. Have a look at our website interconsolutions

  • What happens with the used chemicals?? The garbage dump? And I'll bet that the power used for all that electrolytic metal recovery is NOT produced in a green manner.

  • i love how he says mouth so quiet XD

  • Yeah! Go to the chemist NOW, buy HNO3 and HCl and dump your old processor in it. Take your zippo, melt the gold to a nice nugget and take it to the next bank. Buy yourself a brandnew car. Invite your best friends to a splendid dinner and convince them to hand you over their old computers. Call Obama and tell him: "You were right. Yes I can!"

  • "The only metal on processors is gold"

Never seen nor heard such nonsense. Who is the author of this? Goebbels? ;-)

  • Whats the value of the gold in every microprocessor.

  • hmmm.... gold (nice), copper (meh), silver (OK).....all from old computers? pass the acids please, im gonna get me some gold!

  • lol, who ever wants to do this at home needs to realise that unless they have a crap load of computers and proper equipment, it ain't worth shit to try this.

  • Gold gold gold!!!!!!

  • where can i get acids any one.

  • What types of acid? I'm a chemical supplier.

  • PM me.

  • nitric ,hydrochloric acids

  • good thing i didn't thorw my old computer away... all of that copper, silver and gold are mine~~~

  • Comment removed

  • Very interesting!

  • This was a very helpful video. Thanks Triwood!!!!! Now I can start making some money.

  • what where the 2 components to get the gold pouder out of the processors

  • I wish there was an easier way to recycle for the self starter.

What an extensive process this is. Dangerous also.

  • deadly

  • I wonder how much theft goes on in these places...

  • cool! i didn't know they had gold!

  • Does anyone know when this video was made? Also can the average joe take out parts of old(and new) computers and sell them to these companies who recycle the parts???

  • heh. this is the best thing Ive seen in a good bit.

  • I find it hard to believe that a ton of computer parts(about 2000Lbs) to make 6500lbs of gold. That seems a very unlikely to me.

  • But i do own a ewaste recycling plant of my own and this is very true. We do this everyday but our method is a little more complex then the one shown.

  • did the british accent not give a clue? where the pound is the currency

  • yeah i guess one could assume that if they were living in the 90s! Welcome to the 21st century and the almighty EURO! did that not give you a clue to why i misunderstood that?

  • Umm. The pound sterling is still in use.

  • The narrator meant £6500 pounds. Not lbs.

  • I really enjoyed watching this video! I'd give it 10/10 because it was so interesting. I also didn't know there would be gold in these CPU's!

  • wow.thank you ;)

  • Awesome :) I did know there was gold in computers, I didn't know it was in CPU's... time to disassemble my old computers :O

  • incredible..thankz...

  • I want that gold!

  • Now, don't try opening up your computer!

You know using your computer for YouTubing is worth much more than that, lol!

  • I'd sure like to have one of those small gold ingots.
