@gco2110 I wish I could have met you that day. YOU played perfectly. I am a Horn ( as i F Horn) player... played for 40 years. YOU did an outstanding job and your Taps was the finest I have listened to...congratulations on a JOB WELL DONE.
From the bottom of my heart I send my condolences. A beautiful tribute to your son, which I do not know. My son is also a Marine. From one Marine mother to another I say, "may you rest in the peace that passes all understanding beneath the shelter of Almighty God". Thank you is not enough to say for the sacrifice your son paid. God bless you and your family. Diana B. Stephens
@bluesstephens Thank you so much for your kind words. I will pass this along to the Rivers Family. THANK YOU for raising a son that has a heart to serve others, and defend the very freedoms our forefathers shed blood for. THat is a HIGH calling and Honorable decision he made...to voluntarily sign up in a time of WAR. God bless your son, protect him, and give you all strength to support his every need while he is at war.
Rest In Peace my young Brother Marine. I pray that God welcomed you into Heaven with open arms. I pray that He blesses, comforts, strengthens and protects your family, friends and fellow Marines.
As long as there is a United States Marine Corps, LCpl Thomas E. Rivers will live on our hearts and minds.
This is a beautiful tribute to an amazing young man. I didn't know Thomas personally, but I know one of his teachers from school, who speaks of nothing but his deep desire to serve his country at a very young age. We are all indebted to Thomas for his service. May God bless and keep his family and friends as they grieve his loss. May God be glorified always!
Thomas, thank you so much for your great sacrifice to our country, you are dearly missed. I am praying for you Mr. and Mrs. Rivers and Rachel, may God give you peace that surpasses all understanding and carry you through the pain and suffering. God bless you, and I thank you with all my heart.
Our sincere gratitude for your service, young man, and to your family, for their sacrifice and deepest loss. May God receive glory, and may He turn mourning into dancing as, by faith, His name is praised, even in these darkest of hours.
Thank you for putting together this montage of photos to music. My heart swells with the music as I remember fondly times with Thomas and the boys at Briarwood. Who could know what path lay before each young person? I'm so thankful there are men and women who will risk their own lives for this country and our way of life. I'm so sorry to learn of Thomas' passing. Deep sympathy to you Charon and to all of Thomas' family and friends. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Lord - we ask that you comfort Thomas's family and friends in this time of great sorrow and loss. We ask that you pour out your love and compassion into their hearts through your precious Holy Spirit and that they will sense your presence as they walk through this deep valley of mourning. We do rejoice that Thomas knew you and entrusted His life to you and that you have welcomed him in with open and loving arms to his eternal reward. Semper Fi, Thomas, Amen.
In the shadow of the Almighty . . . there is no safer place!
