Actually i grew up in the 70's and, what does a thug have to do with being non athletic? Jordan was clearly playing against lesser talent im sorry :( and just because they were more physical only proves my point they had to murder the guy just to throw him off his game. Hes arguably top 3 in skill. Not in talent, not in athletisism, not in smarts. Jordan is probably 3-4 on athletisism, number 2-3 on skill, number 3-4 on talent, and number 1-2 on smarts. Jordan didn't take bad shots, and thats one of the reasons why he went 6-0 in the finals. Jordan would take either a 3 pter with 1 inch between his foot and the line, and layup, but he wanted a dunk. Or a 9-10 foot jump shot where he got that 48 inch vertical and elevated over EVERYONE

No. lebron james has more raw talent then Kobe Bryant... I really have a hard time defining talent and skill. Skill being how much finesse you have, how good a shooter, a scorer, a defender.
Talent means your natural ability, how good you are before you hone it. Its important because if your not talented, then you can't make it.

It seems like your agreeing with me. I have an obsession with kobe bryant. I find him funner to watch then Lebron James. Hes an incredible player, great at what he does, maybe a bit unorthodox at times which may revolve around him getting so much hype that he has bought into it. Yet again, alot of these stats are because kobe is taking foot on the line jumpers. Last night against golden state kobe bryant took 2 26 fade away 3's. Hit 1 of them. He then took a 23 foot jump shot from the left side and hit it. He drove from the left and got an and 1 under the basket, and then drove from the right and got another basket which should have also been an and one. But then he started missing. He was 4-5 and scored 10 points...
The problem is, I can't remember what happened after that because he started missing. I remember his makes like everyone else, but I often have a hard time remembering his misses. But I remember that he did miss them. Thats what people have a hard time doing. Thats what you have a hard time doing. Hes fun to watch sure, VERY FUN. I love watching him, but I know that lebron is better. I mean the spurs are terribly boring, but a great team.
Thats why Michael Jordan went down as the GOAT. He had the stats, the finesse to creating top 10's --> did they have those back then? and the championships. You know one thing I'm struggling to deal with though... Because kobe bryant is such a good ft shooter, hes actually has almost the same ppp (points per possession) an advanced sabametric as lebron james. Lebron has a 1.13 ppp compared to kobes 1.1 ppp. of course lebron averages more rebounds and assists the kobe.

Your talking to someone who can remember both misses and makes of lots of players. Lebron likes the left 3pt wing, top of the key, anywhere under the basket, and 17 foot jumpers on the left and right wing. Hes not a huge fan of the baseline. From any angle, lebron is better across his entire career kobe came right out of highschool and wasn't starting... lebron came out of highschool and was starting. omg magic! Actually i grew up in the 70's and, what does a thug have to do with being non athletic? Jordan was clearly playing against lesser talent im sorry :( and just because they were more physical only proves my point they had to murder the guy just to throw him off his game. Although i truly enjoyed the the 70's to the late 90's but todays athletes are more athletic, and somewhat more skilled so they dont have to be so physical as u say they can play honest defense not your generation's defense.

you've definitely overextended your argument. its not about opinion. I could say I'm the greatest basketball player to ever live, I could tell you I spend 30 mins a day shooting outside as my proof. My proof is that kobe isn't the best because of his numbers. If you want a sport where the person with the most heart wins, go to boxing. Basketball is who can get the ball in the hoop the most. Kobe can't do that as well as lebron. And he can't keep it out as well either

@crawdaddycon1990 well when it comes to these great players opinions do matter, and kb is arguably top 3, the only problem that has killed his stats and his game generally is his ups and lows! he puts on the effort when needed but he can also start to shoot it like mad even when he doesn't need to! thus, and because nobody can score over 30 or 40 every night for 14 years come the bad numbers and the "ball hog" characteristic! finally with 30 mins practice you can't be the best anywhere :P peace

Hes arguably top 3 in skill. Not in talent, not in athletisism, not in smarts. Jordan is probably 3-4 on athletisism, number 2-3 on skill, number 3-4 on talent, and number 1-2 on smarts. Jordan didn't take bad shots, and thats one of the reasons why he went 6-0 in the finals. Jordan would take either a 3 pter with 1 inch between his foot and the line, and layup, but he wanted a dunk. Or a 9-10 foot jump shot where he got that 48 inch vertical and elevated over EVERYONE

Thats why he was the best, he knew when to shoot and knew when not to shoot. Kobe shoots from every location on the court, which is ridiculous and completely unnecessary. He takes 23 foot jumpers. Why? He takes them from places where hes never practiced, has no muscle memory. Thats not smart at all. Its just dumb. Why do that? Theres no real explanation for it. I'm sorry

No. lebron james has more raw talent then Kobe Bryant... I really have a hard time defining talent and skill. Skill being how much finesse you have, how good a shooter, a scorer, a defender.
Talent means your natural ability, how good you are before you hone it. Its important because if your not talented, then you can't make it.

Hes an incredible player, great at what he does, maybe a bit unorthodox at times which may revolve around him getting so much hype that he has bought into it. His career numbers are lower, hes only won when Hes had some of the best rosters in nba history, and he gets all this clutch hype when lebron is so much better. I'll quote some stats. Kobe is 40.6% in clutch situations, lebron is 44.6% in clutch situations... I think I'm not 100% sure on the decimals. Kobe bryant has gone 14-56 on game winners. Carmelo Anthony has gone 13-27 on game winners since 2003. These aren't what i value though. Hes not as much of an impact as l

Yet again, alot of these stats are because kobe is taking foot on the line jumpers. Last night against golden state kobe bryant took 2 26 fade away 3's. Hit 1 of them. He then took a 23 foot jump shot from the left side and hit it. He drove from the left and got an and 1 under the basket, and then drove from the right and got another basket which should have also been an and one. But then he started missing. He was 4-5 and scored 10 points...

The problem is, I can't remember what happened after that because he started missing. I remember his makes like everyone else, but I often have a hard time remembering his misses. But I remember that he did miss them. Thats what people have a hard time doing. Thats what you have a hard time doing. Hes fun to watch sure, VERY FUN. I love watching him, but I know that lebron is better. I mean the spurs are terribly boring, but a great team.

Thats why Michael Jordan went down as the GOAT. He had the stats, the finesse to creating top 10's --> did they have those back then? and the championships. He was not only the greatest basketball player, he was the best basketball player as far as skill+talent+athletism+smarts= >number then anyone else. He could hit the difficult shots kobe did, but at a better efficiency. Of course he didn't take 23 foot jumpers. He liked the 14-18 feet range

You know one thing I'm struggling to deal with though... Because kobe bryant is such a good ft shooter, hes actually has almost the same ppp (points per possession) an advanced sabametric as lebron james. Lebron has a 1.13 ppp compared to kobes 1.1 ppp. of course lebron averages more rebounds and assists the kobe.

Your talking to someone who can remember both misses and makes of lots of players. Lebron likes the left 3pt wing, top of the key, anywhere under the basket, and 17 foot jumpers on the left and right wing. Hes not a huge fan of the baseline. Kobe likes the right 3pt wing up to 27 feet out (what? why?) 11 foot circus shots....

Jk, hes harder to categorize because he shoots from everywhere, and thats why I have such a hard time watching him. No muscle memory = bad. Lebron rarely takes non muscle memory jumpers. I'm giving you some lee way here, but its not about opinion its about fact. Lebron james can score 25 a night with muslce memory = more efficiency. kobe scores 25 a night without muscle memory = less efficiency. He would score less if he hit muscle memory jumpers

@rob23molina those white players had less vert than i do, and i don't play nowdays in the nba, they did! and they are? from our era, many great players will pass as role or unknown players to other gens because there were too many of them you cant say that for mj era! it wasn't the golden era in b-ball, it became BECAUSE of him!had a great downfall up to the early '00 and started uprising with who? KOBE and now has players of a bit less caliber (lbj) and some new monsters (griffin) to carry on!

Lebron james is better then kobe as an INDIVIDUAL on the court player, regardless of how you look at it. From any angle, lebron is better across his entire career kobe came right out of highschool and wasn't starting... lebron came out of highschool and was starting. omg magic! Don't say lebron is of less caliber then kobe, kobe isn't even in the top 50 when on the court, in terms of accolades hes up there sure. but thats not what being in the nba is about.
