Wow, some of these people leaving comments should run down to the Wal-mart and buy a sense of humor. Geesh. I do agree with those who think a zipper would be better than the velcro for the bugnet closure. Lots of people like the Hennessy Hammocks, I don't like the bottom entry as it complicates use of an under-quilt, and has been known to fail (rip). A DD Traveler hammock is my rig of choice these days.

I forgot. The velcro works great. THere is no pressure on it if the bug net is set up properly. You shouldn't stretch the bug net tight enough to pull on the velcro. I wouldn't use anything other than velcro. I also use my hammock in the winter and Speer's book tell you how to handle that. A must read. You don't put two people in it. I don't know what this guy was thinking when he mentioned that.  The fabric is chosen for light weight and for one person.

We would sit in our speer hammock and go to sleep laughing at this guy. We make ours and Ed Speer tells you how in his book. These are fabulus hammocks and the so is the rain fly. Mine fits into two one quart baggies. I got all my high tech fabrics on discount tables, but I won't tell where. The fly is incredible fabric called Sil-nylon. It is very thin and saturated with silicone and is totaly water proof. THe body of the hammock is ripstop nylon. Mine is 1.9 oz fabric

instead of vel crow u should use a zipper it wood hold better and at the end when u said u slep in the midde of the two tarps and ther was a hole they should make themn so that the have zipper on them just incase you want to inerlock like foure

i just don't feel too good about the velcro opening up like that for this guy...i would be pretty pissed if i ordered one of these and that velcro wouldn't stay closed. i probably wouldn't think twice about a purchase if it had a zipper instead of that velcro.
