absolutely loved this movie and this scene, the characters are so self-absorbed and homogeneous.
Though there's one thing I don't understand, they all work for Pierce & Pierce and they're ALL Vice Presidents?? Just how many vice presidents can there be?
@DxHuman It's not unusual to see multiple, or dozens, of vice presidents at a firm. Frequently vice presidents will associated with functions, divisions or regions within a company. For example, the VP of Marketing, or the VP of Sales in Europe, Middle East and Africa. For investment banks (like the one in this movie) or consulting firms, the VP position might be more of a general level in the hierarchy with responsibilities that aren't as clearly confined to one aspect of the organization.
@ricadus pay attention to the other cards, its the same on those -> Patrick BATEMAN, David VAN PATTEN, Timothy BRYCE
but AFAIK, its normal that the last name is written completely in capital letters, while the first name only starts with a capital letter and continues with lower case letters (or in this case, capital letters in a smaller font size)
Apparently the consensus is that he has a psychological disorder and did not actually commit any murders; however i believe that he did commit the murders and because of wall streets reliance on social engineering, nobody reprimanded him for any behavior because they are more worried about maintaining an image of perfection on and of wall street; this coupled with the physical characteristics of everyone (i.e. everyone looks the same) allowed him to get away with murder.
Thats the whole point of the film/book. It's a critique of that whole business culture. How people aspire to....banality to fit it. The whole "clone in a suit" thing taken to its extreme.
Ultimately, thats why Bateman kills. He's sickened by the mediocrity that surrounds him in the most extreme way.
Why is embedding disabled?

@RusconiDom Well the whole point is to assume they happened, because the audience is carried by the observations of the protagonist.

I love the subtle music interlude when the fourth card is shown, makes it seem as important as it seems through Bateman's eyes ;)
