  • the run at 0:40 .... great work!

  • Best cover on youtube even better is that you are 7 string!

  • awesome mate just awesome you nailed it!!!!

  • Don't tazer me bros

  • They played this solo with keyboards not guitar, even they said so in an interview!

  • @t0nkpi1s Which means this guy is a double BOSS for learning how to play it on guitar

  • AMAZING but if I had to pick one problem, the string bends seem emotionless. For a string bend like at 0:34 or 0:39, to slowly bring the string bend back while picking is what's done in the song.

  • good job dude.

  • perfect

    give me the tablature please

  • exelenteeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • awsome tapping bro

  • Muito doido Vei.... Very Crazy!

    gostei muito!

  • Nice arrangement !! well done dude

  • Cool, dude... very coool!

  • Now.... up to speed. hehe.

  • Considering that it was a synth solo that tried to sound like electric guitar playing, that is fantastic. Good job.

  • FLAWLESS!!!!!

  • Great job dude! You are a god when it comes to bending strings and creating/shifting pitches!

  • mind blown, brix shat!

  • holy.. fucking.. shit...

  • EARGASM

  • realy nice 1 man

  • 21 people just had their thumb slipped, so they hit the dislike button by accident!!

  • AMAZING

Also you did it without whammy pedal or pitch shifter, TALENT!

  • Excellent work good man. The tone you've got on your guitar is beautiful, what do you use?

  • niiiiiiiceeeeee

  • Has anyone tried this on a synth-guitar? o.O (I mean, maybe it's NOT made in a synth, but in a synth-guitar)

  • AHHHHHHHH THUMBS UP THUMBS UP!!!!

  • nt but it just loses its effect without the fx

  • dude, the solo was played on a guitar in the real song. with lots of effects offcourse. but you can clearly hear he was playing on strings.

  • @RetroboytimoMUSIC

no i think its from a moog but with lots of effects and shit

  • @Benlito108 so how do you explain the sound of the strings that are getting picked?

  • @RetroboytimoMUSIC i think they patch their synth to a recording of a guitar being played, so the plucking sound is recorded as well.

  • @thatonekidyouknow ; they've also played aerodynamic by guitar. you can clearly tell from the sounds, and with one interview with some japanese show, they tried to explain that they've learnt guitar, guy was air guitaring - guitar tapping to explain. and you don't give that kind of example if you don't tap. o well.

  • @RetroboytimoMUSIC ( The track is known for the guitar solo featured prominently on its second half. Thomas Bangalter revealed that the solo was created using a mixture of elements, aided by music sequencers. "No one plays solos in their songs anymore, but we wanted to include some on the album. ) straight from wikipedia. so no. no guitars were used. a sequencer or a synth can be made to sound like an guitar and vice versa

  • @RetroboytimoMUSIC

well on aerodynamic its a moog so i thought it wud be the same but i read somewhere that they do use guitar aswell as keyboards but it seems like more keyboards that anything else

  • @Benlito108

    look up this on youtube

DAFT PUNK "Digital Love" Cover, the guys Username=gattobus

  • damn you`re skilled ;)

  • What type of guitar are you using

  • Shame you don't use the whammy to dive at 0.51 seconds. Otherwise pretty good!

  • u're fucking perfect!

  • @babadude94 "babaDUDE" lol this is priceless. thumbs up to you sir

  • this is fucking great. nice job man

  • u rock man! fuckk! 8 string guitar?! i dont have one...make a tab dude

  • Dude!! Awesome. Being able to play this on guitar is really rather amazing given that none of it was played or recorded on guitar. That's one tricky piece to play.

  • @chuckst0nes Yes, it was played and recorded on a guitar then heavily messed with.

  • excelente, saludos desde Argentina!

  • AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!! wish we can collaborate on one stage hehhee

  • 1337

  • amazing

  • awesome dude :D

  • the original is a recorded GUITAR SOLO and heavily effected digitally thereafter NOT A SYNTH KEYBOARD!

major props on the solo playing though.

  • What makes you say that? Got any link where it says that it's an actual guitar and not a synthesizer?

  • @TGF87

"The track is known for the guitar solo featured prominently on its second half. Thomas Bangalter revealed that the solo was created using a mixture of elements, aided by music sequencers." -Wiki

  • @TGF87

I've worked with synth programs and audio recording for a number of years. i can say that no such keyboard can replicate a guitar

a sound clip (the recording of this solo) was most likely recorded from a rather skilled guitar soloist. Synth programs or soundboards were then used to heavily effect the track (which is why it sounds more technoish than the classic distorted sound.

  • @t3hgreatcornholio

I may have missed certain parts of this conversation due to Youtube's faulty commenting layout.. but I can say that a synth can replicate an electric guitar without breaking a sweat. Have you ever listened to dream theatre?

  • @Edensadventures

how dare you imply that jordan rudess could replace the great john petrucci?!

  • @FishStik5ive

haha no silly. I'm a guitarist, I'm on the guitarists side. I just think it's good to know both sides of the spectrum :)

  • @TGF87 I've listened to this song around 8.5 years and played for almost half of that. every technique used in the solo i can personally name.

Without a doubt, i can thus conclude that the solo is in fact a guitar.

    p.s. sorry. word limit.

  • just saying that it's alteration of a recording. the solo as fast as it may be is a purely human element and must have been modified to achieve the end result. if i could ask them i would.

  • Daft Punk make thier samples from guitar then use synthesizer's to make thier music

  • Finally, a solo version with the original not blaring in the background. One can actually appreciate the cover better.

  • dude that was bang on! really awesome!!! I've been trying to get this down for sooo long now, any chance you could post a tutorial?!???!

  • not perfect, but still master shredder

  • Hater

  • perfect!

  • that's awesome dude! i love daft punk. :D

  • i also noticed that the fretboard seems wider, slightly curved, and thicker than other guitars. is that a specific kind? or am i wrong?

  • 7 string guitar

  • dayam you have a sexy tone

  • SO he didnt use a normal Amp he used autotune for it?

  • what kind of guitar is that? i find it very appealing

  • Its An All BLACK stratoscaster

  • @mikecheck46

    WRONG!

  • Dude that was beautiful

  • Ive seen quite a few attempts at this solo on youtube. This one is quite simply the best one without doubt. Well done.

  • Bloody love this I do!

  • that's pretty good

  • Amazing.

  • were would i find the tabs dude

  • respect, that was amazing

  • Wow! Amazing ;)

  • Incredible.

  • well done :)

  • ...

  • Awesomeness Man

  • love it

  • the sound was made on a juno-106 synthesizer in unison mode with a fuckload of outboard effects, they we're in a punk band when they we're younger, but punk bands don't really have technical guitarist's. the solo was done on a synth.

  • @tekkentool they arent punk bad what are you talking about?????????? they said in an interivew guy manuel plays alot of the guitar

it sounds pretty real to me and i havent seen any synth cover as good as i yet

  • When they we're young, they we're in a punk band. A newspaper gave them a poor review, calling them a group of "daft punk kids" and that's how they got the name.

It's an effected synth that's being played to sound like a guitar, it isn't that abnormal in the synth world.

  • how can i believe you when you got that wrong aswell? They said It was "A bunch of daft punk"

    uuuuhhhh-huuuu

  • The solo is composed like it was on a keyboard, the slide is along the C major scale, not chromatic scale like it would be if it was done on a guitar. And the timbre is unmistakably a synthesizer.

  • well, the solo is indeed done in a guitar, if you play guitar and synths you would notice the difference, but the guitar is being pasing by a filter, or in other case, for the gate of a synth, Thats why the guitar sounds like that.

  • fucking perfect

  • Wow!That was amazing!

  • You are great! :D

  • Amazing!! Very good job man! Thanks for sharing.

  • beautiful. made it all the better since you werent competing with the actual song in the background like most of the other covers were.

  • *head explodes*

  • TABS PLEASE

  • Nice job! I've always wanted to figure this out for guitar.

  • are you playing through a clean channel?

  • Sick solo. I love how you really made it your own; not just playing it note-for-note. Job well done!

    And yeah, it's a guitar.

  • HOLY- SHIT! Hot Damn

  • my god, that was so stunning, i had no idea that this was even guitar. but god damn you blew me over.

  • that was amazing! im assuming you learned by ear, it was brilliant

  • neither is a synth or guitar solo, sincerely its a master piece. from all solos i've heard this is the one i like most

  • That was fuckin' sick.

  • I would also like to join the argument on whether the original solo is synth / guitar. Personally, i hear distinct guitar patterns such as taps and slides. And as a guitarist, its really hard to mishear those things.

  • as a musician of both guitar and piano . . . . its most definitely a synth . . . . and trust me . . . . its hard to mishear THOSE things.

  • @OnyxDeity It's a synth solo because of that deep bass part (0:45 in this video (4:03 in real song)) but it's probably some overdrive guitar patch for the synth.

It's easy to mistake it for real guitar sound but since it's too linear and perfect - you can be sure it's a synth.

  • damn dude, that was fucking incredible !!

  • wow...dat reely is AMAZING ! Good Job! i wish i can playy like dat

  • *closes jaw* wow i am just speachless thats amazing

  • Hey man, good job. But you're wrong, daft punk's guitarist made the solo of this song with a guitar, yes ! And then the band modified the original sound with synth effects, as they do usually ;)

  • they don't have a guitarist.

  • Actually Nero, Daft Punk did not use a guitar for this song. I do not know where you got your information but please confirm it before you go flaunting it around the internet.

  • Of course they did, its not easy to hear, but there are significant attributes of an guitar, like Slides.

They are just putting it through a Harmonizer or Vocoder, something like that.

Btw, theres Guitar through through the HOLE song...

  • I am sorry but I really doubt that. I don't think they used any guitars in discovery. Now there are guitar emulators out there, and I do know what you mean by hearing the slides. They are most likely just effects though.

  • Its not about guessing and doubting, just use your Ears.

I just said what i said, so you can hear it by yourself, not to prove anything.

I know that it is a real Guitar.

  • I can really hear what you are talking about, and I appreciate you not being a jerk about this. I however am going to stick with what I think, that being that it is either a synth, or possibly a HEAVILY effected guitar. Who knows really though, besides Daft Punk.

  • yeah, I also think it is a synth, if you hear guitars the whole song, maybe because they are from the sample the used, but for the solo is has to be a synth like this guy on youtube watch?v=smE-uIljiGo

  • i think the guys from daft punk could plugged a guitar through a synth keyboard.

  • fucking amazing man ur so good

  • Jeeeeeeesus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • HOLY SHIT DUDE!! that was amazing! keep up your good work :o)

  • That's AWESOME!! =)

  • WOW,

    This is Perfect.

    Love it so much!!!!!!!

  • fuck me, i actually signed in especially to comment on this. well done, just fucking well done.

  • awefuckinsome

  • Great job :D

  • This was one of the first and still the best hack at playing what was originally a synth solo played by a sequencer. Nice job!!

  • omg! that is perfect! not too intense but not too easy! i love can you please send me the tab?

  • vraiment excellent!!!

  • NICE!! you NAILED the sound!!!, but you gotta admit, theres no beating daft punk, haha

  • sounds awesome dude!

  • Plug it through a Korg MS 20 synth with a little flanger and phaser and you'll have the perfect sound of DP ; ). Anyway good play !!
