Ducati is not like an Alfa. Ducati is like a Lamborghini and in some tracks is faster.Every bike is for some special use and Duc is more for the track,than road. It's the king of superbikes that's why always wins and has the most championchips.

@myhomeNZ Overpriced I'm not sure, jap bikes are mostly ugly as fuck lately(R1, ZX-10R) and still without decent race ABS or traction control. Those issues are from ages ago, mine was actually freaking cheap on maitenance but u need to find someone that knows what he is doing(after warranty). I'd be driving an 848 evo if I didn't stumbled on a bargain S1000RR. I still freaking love duc's but this beemer... each day I ride it it puts a grin on my face :D. Awesome bike!
Ducatis make nice art installations. Nice show ponies and works of art. Ask a Ducati owner how reliable they are. I know a lot of guys with Ducatis that spend more time in the garage than on the road. Nothing beat s a Japanese bike for reliability and bang for your buck.

Most of you think that the Duc sucks in the straightline because it's a twin and shit, let me tell you that v twin tech has come a LONG way... it's as good, or even BETTER on the straights compared to the 1000s. And remeber 1000s nowadays are as fast as the busa (or even faster if you take the BMW S1000RR in to equation).

Hayabussa is a sport turing motorcycle , it's purpose is long comfortable jurneys . It's heavier than Ducati , even if it has 20 more bHP . In long distances , it has bigger final speed . Quarter mile drag is not for Hayabussa . Try that race for 30 miles and you'll have the ducati searching for Hayabussa's dust !

@carmpazzo My problem is coz i had a 1098r and a mv agusta f4 and soon i realized coz i've spend 40.000 euros on NOTHING!!!!! The duc last 20.000 km (piston blow) and the MV 25.000km (engine blow) and the bikes was NOT!!! punished too hard.The mantainance for duc was 3.000(valve clearence and timingh belts) euros evry 10.000km :)))that's whi i hate ducaties and that's the reason for having now 7 jap bikes ...and guess what? thei never disappointed me ....any of them! thei are reliabile and fast

And guess what- that was in 2008. besides, dyno pwnage aint everything- its all about puttin' it down, accessing it, and having the confidence to use it. 'Nuff said
and just to make a point as to how race oriented the 1198 is you can even top up the oil without taking off the fairings so instead of them making the 1198 from road bike to race bike they did it the other way round

@Ryknfjor LMAO you have never seen any of these bikes on a dyno I am guessing. The twin motors are not known for hp, they are more torque. Ducatis make about 150hp stock, while the busa makes around 175. The 50hp was just a figure of speech, but the Ducati makes the least hp of all liter bikes and up. We have dyno night every week at the local dealership, and I have seen first hand what most bikes really put out, not what some magazine says.

@Ryknfjor Well, you were the one who thought a Duc made close to the same power as a busa and that is pretty far off, so if you actually saw dyno runs you would know that. Oh and my 2006 1000rr put out 165 hp with a slip on Jardine pipe, power commander, and a BMC air filter, so that 2008 1000rr that you saw had some problems, or was tuned like shit! I know that dyno queens are not all that matters, as mine hits the track every year, so my bike gets used like it should.
@adrenalineboyzryan you dont have to talk like a jackass, i admitted to not seeing many if any dynos. you can figure out general Hp not only by rpm n tq figures but by comp ratio, volumetric efficiency, headers, bore/stroke ratio, etc.... so i was off by another 10hp- that says alot about how much i know not even seeing bikes actually on dynos.
Having owned a 2008 Hayabusa and ridden a 1098s the ducatti handles and stops much better. HOWEVER.. As i am 6'3" the riding position of the Ducatti would cripple me, the Busa is a fantastic tourer. My biggest problem with Ducatti is that for some reason the Italians feel that you should pay twice the amount for a bike that is inferior. ( my new cbr1000rr would BELT either bike for handling. Yes the 1198r is good but 50k for a bike that would be beaten by a jap bike with a few mods is a joke

Most of you think that the Duc sucks in the straightline because it's a twin and shit, let me tell you that v twin tech has come a LONG way... it's as good, or even BETTER on the straights compared to the 1000s. And remeber 1000s nowadays are as fast as the busa (or even faster if you take the BMW S1000RR in to equation).

Hayabussa is a sport turing motorcycle , it's purpose is long comfortable jurneys . It's heavier than Ducati , even if it has 20 more bHP . In long distances , it has bigger final speed . Quarter mile drag is not for Hayabussa . Try that race for 30 miles and you'll have the ducati searching for Hayabussa's dust !

@carmpazzo My problem is coz i had a 1098r and a mv agusta f4 and soon i realized coz i've spend 40.000 euros on NOTHING!!!!! The duc last 20.000 km (piston blow) and the MV 25.000km (engine blow) and the bikes was NOT!!! punished too hard.The mantainance for duc was 3.000(valve clearence and timingh belts) euros evry 10.000km :)))that's whi i hate ducaties and that's the reason for having now 7 jap bikes ...and guess what? thei never disappointed me ....any of them! thei are reliabile and fast

Here in south texas we dont have a lot of dynos. let alone use them for real bikes ala 'super/sportbikes'. the last time i saw a bike on a dyno was a 2008 Honda Cbr1000rr and it put out ~143hp w/ yosh exhaust. And guess what- that was in 2008. besides, dyno pwnage aint everything- its all about puttin' it down, accessing it, and having the confidence to use it. 'Nuff said

@Ryknfjor LMAO you have never seen any of these bikes on a dyno I am guessing. The twin motors are not known for hp, they are more torque. Ducatis make about 150hp stock, while the busa makes around 175. The 50hp was just a figure of speech, but the Ducati makes the least hp of all liter bikes and up. We have dyno night every week at the local dealership, and I have seen first hand what most bikes really put out, not what some magazine says.

@Ryknfjor Well, you were the one who thought a Duc made close to the same power as a busa and that is pretty far off, so if you actually saw dyno runs you would know that. Oh and my 2006 1000rr put out 165 hp with a slip on Jardine pipe, power commander, and a BMC air filter, so that 2008 1000rr that you saw had some problems, or was tuned like shit! I know that dyno queens are not all that matters, as mine hits the track every year, so my bike gets used like it should.

Having owned a 2008 Hayabusa and ridden a 1098s the ducatti handles and stops much better. HOWEVER.. As i am 6'3" the riding position of the Ducatti would cripple me, the Busa is a fantastic tourer. My biggest problem with Ducatti is that for some reason the Italians feel that you should pay twice the amount for a bike that is inferior. ( my new cbr1000rr would BELT either bike for handling. Yes the 1198r is good but 50k for a bike that would be beaten by a jap bike with a few mods is a joke

@Mephistocbrxx11 See you are proving my point. Bugatti wasn't made in Germany, and I really don't know a good bikes from Germany . WW, BMW are one of the worst cars in the whole world, always braking and to expensive to fix, i use to owe both so i know its pore quality. Autobahns - well we got tracks almost in every city so i can have fun with out putting in danger other ppl. What else you thing you got that we don't? @Mephistocbrxx11 What an hater. What is the point to hate them if you personally can't do anything but wasting your energy and mood. Fastest bike on earth is Dodge Tomahawk and Y2K. I don't care about Japs caz in the same war few months before Americans drop those bombs they take over some part of China and in one city every woman was raped and cut every man head off.
