I wonder how many people noticed all the subtle premonitions (of the future rape) in the bedroom scene towards the end like Marcus's hand being on her mouth (twice) and she moved it away, and of course the spitting and anal reference. It was a pretty genius part of this hard to watch movie.

Yes people it's a horrible movie, but you should watch it at least once. It may make you feel nauseated. The only graphic scenes are the man getting his face bashed, and the woman Alex getting attacked. It's a very good movie tho. Yes it may affect you for a few weeks after but so what.

Remember, it's just a movie, it's all acting. So watch it.

@TheBrando382 Yeah fair point. I can only name it as a reason to watch a better film. Not saying do not watch it but I just felt some people thought some of it was more intense then what it is. Through talking to another mate about the film and re watching it and a few scenes I can now see more of what makes certain scenes more ... intense. I will admit it was stupid of me to say what I did about this film.

What a revolting film, it was so hard to watch with that 10 minute rape scene that it makes stuff in the original Last House on The Left and I Spit on Your Grave or House on The Edge of the Park look like bricks.

Its a very sad film, when you eventually realise the full story. It is disturbing, but its not as bad as some people are making it out. The rape scene is abit graphic, but ive seen far worse things in other films. The murder scene looks very real, but its no were near as graphic as other films.

It is a good film, and the way the film moves back through time is pretty unique, and probably makes the film even better. Id give it an 8/10.

If you want a real disturbing film watch Martyrs.

Martyrs was good, but have you seen The Untold Story, Men Behind The Sun, Salo, Pink Flamingos, In a Glass Cage, Nekronomtik, Caligula (Uncut), New York Ripper, Funny Games, House on The Edge of the Park, Cannibal Ferox, Jungle Holocaust aka last cannibal World, Cannibal Holocaust, Maniac (1980), Nightmare (1981) aka Nightmare in a Damaged Brain etc. other screwed in the head films.

But the shock, or mild trauma, will gradually ease as the months roll on.

I watched this film sober. And after it, i was sorry i did so.

This film is probably as savage and depraved, as human beings can be.

I know that they're many people who can view a film with more of an artistic sensibility, who can appreciate a film through its more intricate parts and appreciate its artistic contribution. However, I'm simply a movie fan, no more no less, and it was difficult for me to rate this film as good or bad because I was simply taken aback by the graphic brutality of it. Especially that long long brutal rape scene. So for me to be so disturbed by the film, it at least must have had great acting.

Indeed disturbing. When ur close to someone that has been true same, makes it hard to watch. Special and grafic movie though. It realy makes you feel ur just a human. Hope people also remember this is just a movie! :)

It was hard to watch. I wish they kill the guy that rape the girl I'n the tunnel. Did she live after that or what. The best horror I saw was spit on the grave I'n 1978. She got even with those horrible men. Monica bellucci was great and beautiful.

This is a very difficult film to watch... very disturbing, yet brilliant in a way. It's amazing that films like this, such existential and depressing films, can even get made in the overly-commercial industry we have today.
