The shoryuken is ken's best move and he is using it in all kinda combos, he could have done the tatsumaki but that doesnt knock him on the ground like ryu's tatsumaki does. ryu has more variations because his tatsumaki and his ex hadouken causes the oponent to hit the ground however ken isnt realy known for his great hadoukens and his ground tatsumaki isnt that great either compared to his shoryuken. his air tatsumaki is great though.

The games often don't translate the story. But basically...

In game. Ryu from the vanilla build of sf4 was much better than ken. But it's future adaptations have swung the scale ken's way. Ryu had "tools" to get him the victory that ken didn't posses like ultra advantages from trades. now, ken has better tools because he has been improved in the adaptations while ryu has been weakened.

In story Ryu is power, discipline, Focus. Ken is speed, creativity, confidence.

Two reasons, Ken's Ultra bar was only half full, but mostly because of the damage scaling from all the hits in the combo before. Because Rufus got dizzied during a combo, all of the hits before the dizzy counted in the scaling too. And then playerjun did a bunch more after the dizzy, so there was max scaling for the ultra.
