@chocolateboy0115 at 3:45 he uses a belt sander you could probally use a electric sander or sand paper but this would be alot more time consuming you would smooth the edges off with these. especially using the sand paper.
And at 4:11 he uses a rowder or rowter im not to sure (one of the two) this just makes the edges curve.
Your type says you're using polyester resin but in the video you refer to it as epoxy resin.......which is it? I have a job to glass and I'm trying to study up a bit.
The one in the video is polyester, while I've used epoxy also with great results. As you know, both epoxy and polyester have resin and hardener bases, mixed in a certain proportion to cause the chemical reaction of the hardening process. Epoxy is more expensive and more durable in a marine environment. For the price difference, I'd go with polyester for a skateboard, it's still extremely durable for this purpose. Hope this helps.
@NickMonteleone i spend a lot of time working with fiberglass and epoxy resin
polyester resin is what you find eat canadian tire it is cheeper and less strong then epoxy resin but still very strong
epoxy is very easy to work with and gives you a great product much stronger then polyester resin i would highly recomend it but you need to do to a boat building shop to get it and costs a bit more
is that comoflague fibreglass?

Also can you use paper for the pattern? Would the whole sheet of paper show up or would the paper dissolve into just the pattern?

Do you only need one layer of the cloth /fiberglass or could you do more for more durability
