Firefox is sooo slow. I had a old Pentium 4 with 256 gigs of memory. The PC was 5 years old. I was noticing Firefox was getting very slow on that PC. But when Chrome came out things started loading up seconds faster than Firefox. It was like a had a faster PC using Chrome. So based on my experience this test is right on. Firefox is still somewhat a bit slower than Chrome on my new Quad Core 8 gig PC. You Tube for example runs a bit choppier than YT on Chrome.

This isn't a valid test. The most accurate/easy way I thought of to do this was to open chrome, test, close chrome, open firefox, test. I did it a couple times and firefox always won by just under a second.

The way this guy tests the browsers is like seeing who can run faster. A varsity runner who just ran 10km vs a jv who just warmed up. Too many factors that make the test extremely inaccurate. Not saying my ways perfect, but it's a hecka lot better than this one.

Open one, test the speed, close the app. Then open the other, test the speed, close the app. Don't open any other apps in between. That's the easiest way I can think of to get a better answer. The test this guy did is super bad. He did it on two separate computers.

You can't do a test like this on two different computers, expecially since they aren't the same make or brand. for example, if you put firefox on the computer that has chrome, and then kept firefox on the other, then did the same tests with firefox on both, firefox on the right one probably would go faster then the other one even though they are the same browser.

in my personal experience chrome is absolute shit compared to firefox. i keep hearing good things about chrome, and keep trying to switch from ff to chrome (tried 3 times already), but keep experiencing bugs. for example, .gif images are extremely slower than they should be. also, when i roll over a link my cursor doesn't always change to a hand. also, i can't use my two fingers to scroll like i could on ff (i'm using a new macbook pro).

Switch the browsers on both and test again...and yes. Chrome is really faster than ffox, but only for 0.5-1sec. Chrome also have lots of bugs, especially with flash. When you open more than few tabs, Chrome is a bit slower than firefox. Flash in chrome sometimes crashes, some times have spikes. Cant read RSS feed on Chrome (only as plain text). Cant see animated favicon. Lots of bugs when you open more than 5 tabs. Firefox with addons - unbeatable.

what a terrible example. the fact that you're using 2 different laptops on the same network proves absolutely nothing, and i'm guessing you may possibly be running 2 different OSes too which can be a factor. if you know anything about networking, it doesn't send packets in parallel, so checking both at the same time will give one computer an advantage since it starts first
