There are a lot of cars out there, of all kinds. Many of them I love, and many that I wish I owned. But I think I can honestly say, that out of them all, the one car that I covet more than any other is a Mk II Ford Escort, done up in rally livery and covered in mud. And this coming from an American who has never seen one in person! =(

Great car. Grew up in the Philippines where it is one of the lucky countries for the MK 1 & 2 Escorts to be sold. My dad had an MK 2 Southern Cross and beat the crap out of a 240Z I remember XD

the Mark II was one of the best handling and forgiving cars ever built, it is/was believed that the 100inch wheelbase was/is the perfect wheelbase.
