 Nice Car! i alway was a sucker for the second gen friebirds. i had a 1976 forumula 400 s hardtop, automatic transmission. the same color as your car. had honeycomb rims and goodyear radials and somebody updated the brakes to four wheel disc brakes. that car would move!! scared the crap outta my friends!!LOL!! i miss her... oh well, ill get another one again someday.

@oreobadr Oh yeah, its said the 403s had more torque than the 400s but people just tend to love the 400s more just for the Pontiac side of it and how apparently people say the Pontiac engines were built better but really i dont think it matters either way, Edlebrock and Comp Cams both have great aftermarket for both anyways, i wish more was out there for the 301 turbos, i wonder how they'd do if modded to be hooked up to a modern turbo, im an N/A fan but still, its interesting to think of haha

wow, your real lucky to own that, most 79s were 403 autos, you got a 4 gear so it must be the 400, dident make many 4 gear 400 ta,s in 79, keep that baby its a rare bird! what mods you got done to it, sounds great and love the yellow with black interior combo

@krisduboy I always wondered why the Pontiac W72 400 option was limited to the 4 speed and the only explaination I have is they could squeeze a few more mpg out of it and reduce emissions just enough it make it legal.

@krisduboy BTW some Pontiac 400s were put with automatics from 1977-78. They would have been the 180 horsepower L78 400. Thankfully Pontiac stopped building it prior to 1979.

My wife and I have a sundance yellow 79 also. Only its a automatic with the deluxe vyinal interior. It also has the optional rooftop drip panels and the side door ttrim panels. Oh ya, ha ha it needs to be restored. Its not as nice as yours. We are the 3rd owners. The original owner had it for 27 years.

Bad ass bird, had one in that color when I was 17, sadly some dumb ass ran a red light and I smashed into him. Got 3 T/As now and 1 camaro.. Love that year, my next car is a 79 T/A.. Check my cars out some time...
