Real Play Maker....He control with his touch, vision and makes players around him special..going to be one hell of midfield maestro in future..no doubt!!!
What strikes me more than anything with Tom Cleverley is his field coverage. Playing in the central mid, a player's work rate / field coverage is the grounding for his effectiveness. And Cleverley was demonstrating that with his (shortened) start to this EPL season. I look forward to his return (shortly), and that of Anderson too. I thought they were very commanding together. Kudo's to Scholes (and Ferguson); I was somewhat doubting Scholes would be as consistently effective as he has been.
hes the reason for united's barca style game in the beginning of the season....i mean we thashd arsenal, squashed bolton, thumped chelsea like it was nothing...all because of this guy...hes definitely the successor to scholes and the next midfield maestro fergie has created.....
average man utd fan criticise lampard for not being technically good but praising this man(was going to kid but realise that he's a fully grown man) as the next scohles 'laughing' because he cant even lace wilshere boot not to mention mceachran
@MrJahmur you freakin turd......this guy is better than wilshire and mceachran will ever be.....i mean this guy looks like the second coming of scholes....i swear it felt like scholes was playing in the middle....this guy is special...he's gonna take scholes's place on the legends list for manutd and is gonna be the next pass mater and anothr legend players arnd the world are gonna be talking about in the coming years.....
Okay, I'm an Arsenal fan.. and believe me, this is really hard to say, but that Nani goal was superb!! I mean the build up and everything, WOW. Class.
very average technique, miles away from scholes and will never make up. He isn't even technically as good as lampard to be honest. look at his first touch
@johannsebastienbach isnt as good as lampard lmao, lampard has been in the league 10plus years and cleverley has been in 2 years you cnt even compare them
@johannsebastienbach scholes is 37 been in the game for 20 yrs...lampard is 33 been in the game for 15 yrs....cleverly's 23 been in the game for what 7 yrs 8 max.....that too hes still a kid compared to both them...and believe me if scholes thinks this guy is good...then hes awesome fr me...and i can already see a hint of scholes in his movement and passing....
A little harsh but still true. His technique is not on Scholes' level, or Lampard's, I agree, or Wilshere's.. But his movement and brain looks very good and he doesn't really need supreme technical ability to be a top, top player anyways. He's showing a lot of quality regardless and he's an exciting one. I hope he can stay clear of injuries and that.
Well, we don't need another central midfielder like Sneijder when we have Tom, of course. But the problem is that Tom is not in good shape. And because of that, we don't have any good central midfielder now, that's the problem.
The Rooney ,nani, cleverley, ,welbeck goal remind me of when tevez,Ronldo was at the club, cleverly gets the best out players around him nani , young haven,t being the same players with out him
those lose. 3-0 newcastle 6-1 city and kick out from champion league because this guy didn't play. this guy just so creative. play one/two touch. has a good cross. good tackle. good movement so perfect. just need to train long shot. so who say we need sneijder??
@SpotifyApple you know why fifa always has the feature to increase overalls,, so that u can make cleverley 99 if u wanted to ! ! : p,, i made him an 82 though, he should be 'atleast 82' : p hahaha ; )

i think he's the best guy in united's midfield. at least cleverley brings the quick ball and the creativity, only if he had better shooting skills he would be the perfect midfield we need right now. i wish him a speedy return after the everton match
Anyone watch the everton game? Most of the time when he was on the field our passing was brilliant, we had possession, opportunities were created (sort of) and our general play and control was brilliant! He truly is a game changer
With cleverley: Manutd scores 3 goals in 45 mins to win community shield
Without cleverley: Manutd losing 2-0 at community shield, and gets thrashed 1-6 by city
Cleverley's off the ball movement was missing piece of our midfield. His contribution is just immense. Utd have been playing badly since his injury. Utd's poor off the ball movement was suspect for many years, until cleverley came this season, thus resulting in big wins at the start of the season.
Cleverly always supported the strikers in this match, when we got thrashed 6-1 anderson and fletcher always passed to the wingers, we needed cleverly that match, I don't know why fergie didn't play him, he was fit.

Carrick, agh, that guy. all he does is pass the ball back; Fletcher, he's half and half but definitely better than Carrick but Cleverley, I rate him over any of our current centre midfielders
@spittingcamel01Agreed.At least Fletcher will run tho.Anderson + Carrick do nothing.Gibson is alright,if he worked harder on his passing/tackling he could be an amazing midfielder with his power, physicality & striking. Cleverly is a class act. I'd like to see him paired with someone like Ganso or Wilshere. Although, Matty James and Paul Pogba from the Academy look amazing aswell. Look them up :P
@IrishRu5T Yeah fletcher works hard but we don't take control with him in there. We need somebody else in there too who is gonna step up so that we could be champions of Europe again. We need to step up to Barcelona in the midfield. Were capable of beating them with everybody else we have in there though. Tom Cleverley and someone else in my opinion are good enough.
@manutd4345 Fletcher's not that good. Definitely not a guy who can take control of a game like a Modric, Sneijder, Xavi, etc. But you can say he does work hard. I wouldn't say he's a great holding defensive midfield player like a Lassana Diarra, Xabi Alonso, or Daniel De Rossi but i guess he's an okay defensive midfield player but definitely not a great
@spittingcamel01 no hes not the best attacking, wise, but decent. but thats the thing, he isn't an attacking cm, he is a defensive cm and with work ethic comparable to that of park. had he been fit for the final in wembley, we might not have been so sad that day, but carrick is a pile of living crap.
with vidic ,rooney, cleverley man utd will look a different team, carrick isn't good enough in midfield,i give pobga a chance in midfield than carrick, anderson only looks half the player without cleverley, look at how many goals man utd scored when cleverley and anderson played together since the man city game untill the bolton game 21 goals( i know cleverley got a injury against bolton but he still started)
He's not so 'clever' now.Another player hyped up,bet he'll end up like Gibson and Luke Chadwick,Mecheda and Chris Eagles,he'll play a few good games and then go off the boil and end up playing for Chester or Swindon Town.Amen.
Anderson has been poor ever since Tom Cleverley picked up that injury. This goes to show the impact Cleverley has already made in our fantastic, youthful squad.
Anderson was also brilliant for a spell w/ Carrick last season and then he went off the boil a bit. I think the problem is Anderson. He doesn't seem capable of stringing more than 5 good displays together, forget brilliant displays, consistently good is even beyond him.
That said, Cleverley has made a good impact on the side, he looks a good footballer, passes, moves, links play and he will do that with any player because unlike Anderson, he's actually a good player
@StrettyNews actually if u watched the league cup game that cleverley played he didnt play that well either without anderson. it shows that cleverley and anderson actually have a good midfield udnerstanding. just ftr even after cleverley was injured ando still managed to have the highest completed pass rate in prem and the second most completed tackles in prem, and the most at united. so he didn't play that bad after all. but i do find their games compliment each other a lot
Cleverly and Pogba are manchester united's future in midfield...Cleverly's got the movement and passes..Pogba's got an amazing shot and great long passes..!
the thing i love about scholes is that he was an out and out attacking midfielder for most of his years at united, always hunting around the edge of the 18 yard box and making things happen upfront. When he became older fergie matured him into more of a holding midfielder, keeping things tidy infront of defence and using his great passing ability to start attacking moves. Its been great to watch scholes change over the years and i hope cleverley can also become a united legend
Personally if I had to compare him to another player, it wouldn't be "young Scholes" - it would be Andrés Iniesta. He's just as small, which allows for great acceleration and balance, and his strength lies in short quickfire passing and movement. Not to mention a certain similarity in terms of their work ethic and tendency to constantly harangue players until they lose the ball. All in all he's an exciting prospect <3
@GooseberryMk3 what a joke! he's technique is pretty average. Compared to josh mceachran of chelsea this guy is so average. How the hell you compare him to iniesta with this average technique
@johannsebastienbach you dont make your team better with only your technique , its about how well you pass, and find those empty spaces to help your team
@GooseberryMk3 Seriously? Your comparing this 22 year old who has only in the last 2 months started to look decent to someone who has played over 40 games a season every season for the biggest club on the planet since he turned 20.
Your dreaming. This guy will never reach Iniesta's level. In fact, he will never even reach Wilshere's level. And I"m not an Arsenal fan, that's just straight shooting.
@codeyantiassembly he is being compared with iniesta for his playing styles and techniques not about succes ..if u watch the video carefully cleverley is just like iniesta
@punkreddevil Iniesta is much better than him , Cleverly hasn't played much for Manchester United , you can't say he is like Iniesta. He hasn't got much experience , he's nowhere near iniesta.
@codeyantiassembly Cleverley keeps his football simple. Pass and move. Nice and tidy, good early passes as well. Now, there was one Roy Keane who stepped onto the football field with the simple instruction 'pass, move into space, collect the ball, pass' over and over again. He didn't turn out too bad, did he?
@magicalzidane Keane was already hugely rated by the time he even moved to Man U. Don't get me wrong, Cleverley could turn out to be a great little player. Very industrious and does his job. But to say he will ever attain the heights of Iniesta, Scholes or Keane is just foolish.
LOL you're making me laugh... cleverley is pure talent - he's got vision and intelligence on the pitch. he's fast, good passer of the ball and the lad has a lot of creativity. i guess that you're just blind.
As a United fan I gotta say that's spot on.. The way he's emerged this season is exciting though, he's clearly got a bit of a footballing brain on him but I don't see the supreme technical ability I see with the two you mentioned. Iniesta is probably the best around and even Wilshere has shown promise for many years and has proven his quality to the point that you know he'll be class. Cleverley however is still just a prospect, but he could grow into a class player at Utd.
To be honest, sometimes his movements and running looks just like scholes [younger and older version] I love him, he's gonna be Manchester United brain...
great player, but he doesnt have tht much vision for those longer passes...those are vital for any midfielder. you gotta have tht, players like scholes, xavi, gerrard all do...anyway good vid though
haha even yaya toure was scared of cleverley after he came from the bench. Yaya must be thinking that what the f*** with this white guy??? He's smaller than me but hell so aggressive than i am...
gosh, this is why youth team players are always better than foreign imports. they have 200% more passion, 300 % more hunger and they have huge understanding with one another playing with each other for years. and oh, they don't even need to adapt to the stadium, city, weather, language etc. and they die to play for the club, wanting to play in the 1st team everyday since they were in the youth team. even as 9 or 10 yrs old. when will ppl folo this system, up barca and man U!!!!!! my 2 fav clubs
1:12 - 1:37 is a beautiful piece of football.

@IrishRu5T Yeah fletcher works hard but we don't take control with him in there. We need somebody else in there too who is gonna step up so that we could be champions of Europe again. We need to step up to Barcelona in the midfield. Were capable of beating them with everybody else we have in there though. Tom Cleverley and someone else in my opinion are good enough.
spittingcamel01 4 months ago
@spittingcamel01 what are u talking about? fletcher is a great holding defensive mid, anderson is growing in confidence. but yea, carrick sucks.
manutd4345 4 months ago
@manutd4345 Fletcher's not that good. Definitely not a guy who can take control of a game like a Modric, Sneijder, Xavi, etc. But you can say he does work hard. I wouldn't say he's a great holding defensive midfield player like a Lassana Diarra, Xabi Alonso, or Daniel De Rossi but i guess he's an okay defensive midfield player but definitely not a great
spittingcamel01 4 months ago

He's not so 'clever' now.Another player hyped up,bet he'll end up like Gibson and Luke Chadwick,Mecheda and Chris Eagles,he'll play a few good games and then go off the boil and end up playing for Chester or Swindon Town.Amen.
zzzaaa0990 5 months ago
Anderson has been poor ever since Tom Cleverley picked up that injury. This goes to show the impact Cleverley has already made in our fantastic, youthful squad.
StrettyNews 5 months ago 29
@StrettyNews
Anderson was also brilliant for a spell w/ Carrick last season and then he went off the boil a bit. I think the problem is Anderson. He doesn't seem capable of stringing more than 5 good displays together, forget brilliant displays, consistently good is even beyond him.
That said, Cleverley has made a good impact on the side, he looks a good footballer, passes, moves, links play and he will do that with any player because unlike Anderson, he's actually a good player
logybear86 3 months ago
@StrettyNews actually if u watched the league cup game that cleverley played he didnt play that well either without anderson. it shows that cleverley and anderson actually have a good midfield udnerstanding. just ftr even after cleverley was injured ando still managed to have the highest completed pass rate in prem and the second most completed tackles in prem, and the most at united. so he didn't play that bad after all. but i do find their games compliment each other a lot
vanruddy 3 months ago
@StrettyNews Just imagine when we have Cleverly and Pogba in the same midfield!

GooseberryMk3 6 months ago 23
@GooseberryMk3 what a joke! he's technique is pretty average. Compared to josh mceachran of chelsea this guy is so average. How the hell you compare him to iniesta with this average technique
johannsebastienbach 3 months ago
@johannsebastienbach you dont make your team better with only your technique , its about how well you pass, and find those empty spaces to help your team
KennethChandraTV 3 months ago
@GooseberryMk3 Seriously? Your comparing this 22 year old who has only in the last 2 months started to look decent to someone who has played over 40 games a season every season for the biggest club on the planet since he turned 20.
Your dreaming. This guy will never reach Iniesta's level. In fact, he will never even reach Wilshere's level. And I"m not an Arsenal fan, that's just straight shooting.
codeyantiassembly 3 months ago
@codeyantiassembly he is being compared with iniesta for his playing styles and techniques not about succes ..if u watch the video carefully cleverley is just like iniesta
punkreddevil 3 months ago
@punkreddevil Iniesta is much better than him , Cleverly hasn't played much for Manchester United , you can't say he is like Iniesta. He hasn't got much experience , he's nowhere near iniesta.
moijesuismoi99 2 months ago
@codeyantiassembly Cleverley keeps his football simple. Pass and move. Nice and tidy, good early passes as well. Now, there was one Roy Keane who stepped onto the football field with the simple instruction 'pass, move into space, collect the ball, pass' over and over again. He didn't turn out too bad, did he?
magicalzidane 3 months ago
@magicalzidane Keane was already hugely rated by the time he even moved to Man U. Don't get me wrong, Cleverley could turn out to be a great little player. Very industrious and does his job. But to say he will ever attain the heights of Iniesta, Scholes or Keane is just foolish.
codeyantiassembly 3 months ago
@codeyantiassembly
LOL you're making me laugh... cleverley is pure talent - he's got vision and intelligence on the pitch. he's fast, good passer of the ball and the lad has a lot of creativity. i guess that you're just blind.
mx19idlewilder 3 months ago
@codeyantiassembly
Cleverley however is still just a prospect, but he could grow into a class player at Utd.
logybear86 3 months ago
@GooseberryMk3 scholes is small too ... and if you ask me.. Iniesta is a paul scholes copy
paulhm96 3 months ago
To be honest, sometimes his movements and running looks just like scholes [younger and older version] I love him, he's gonna be Manchester United brain...
baracudarions 6 months ago
Give him 3 seasons in midfield 4 united and he will become a top class player!
jt465465758 6 months ago
great player, but he doesnt have tht much vision for those longer passes...those are vital for any midfielder. you gotta have tht, players like scholes, xavi, gerrard all do...anyway good vid though

gosh, this is why youth team players are always better than foreign imports. they have 200% more passion, 300 % more hunger and they have huge understanding with one another playing with each other for years. and oh, they don't even need to adapt to the stadium, city, weather, language etc. and they die to play for the club, wanting to play in the 1st team everyday since they were in the youth team. even as 9 or 10 yrs old. when will ppl folo this system, up barca and man U!!!!!! my 2 fav clubs

The only thing he needs to learn is the long ball and get some more risk in his passing in the area where it counts. Besides that fantastic player!
