Xin was born in Cambodia but moved to the US when he was four, so he's done a good job to learn some Chinese And she didn't encourage him or anything, even when he said that what was important about being the Descendant of the Dragon was the spirit. Can she comment on his fucking martial arts skills for example? Or is her English not good enough to say anything other than 'you've got to learn Chinese'. Fucking hell.

How is she racist? She wants him to respect the culture that surrounds what he's decided to dedicate his life to. He's good at one aspect of it, but not the rest. He's amazing (although not in this video) but also has a serious identity crisis going on, hence the conflicting styles he's learnt. He needs to learn about his history and get some of his culture back.

yeah. you know whats bs? they invited him. why the fuck do the hold tournaments in foreign countries where you can qualify and than tell Xin. "sry we you cant speak chinese. you are not suited"...my assumption is they realized Xin was the best and they didn't want some foreign kid winning this chinese event. though he met Jackie anyway and will be the new star in a few years! Um, did you know Philip Sahagun won 2nd place and he's not full on Chinese? One of the most important things to Chinese people (and this goes for other nationalities as well) is that you know at least a bit of their language, their culture, etc before you go to their country, especially if they invited you. Not doing so is a huge insult. i can tell Xin was a bit hurt and I thought the judge could've been less harsh but he did talk back to the judge which is his elder which is again an insult.
