GOD, the big guy says "Thou shall not kill", and "he who lives by the swords, dies by the sword". It is so true. Being a soldier makes you a legalized murder...a modern day Nazi. Its that simple. That said, regardless of the appropriateness or not of the song, I think we all, even those who may disagree with the causes or motivations of these wars owe a big debt or gratitude to thos who have and do serve. A nation, no matter what it's politics, agree or disagree need to support and be proud of those willing to make such sacrifices. Many citizens from foreign countries where my husband has landed have thanked him & his comrades for helping. All those who think our soldiers are merely "killing for a paycheck" are completely mistaken & need to do a little deeper research rather than parroting bumper stickers & Huffington Post. I'd like to think God is very proud of my husband for all the deployments he's gone on to help protect the innocent citizens of Afghanistan & Iraq -- while also protecting our turf, most importantly. My husband is a US Marine & has been on multiple deployments overseas since we met in highschool & has NEVER even injured anyone. He comes back with pictures of the little Afghani children hugging him & his comrades, & gifts of friendship that some of the citizens there have given him.

You know, our soldiers are not just over there ruthlessly killing, but doing a whole heck of a lot more... like assisting in opening up schools for girls that otherwise wouldn't have had a chance to become educated, handing out Beanie Babies to poor kids without toys, opening clinics to treat wounded civilians, & many many more positive efforts. Soldiers are not paid for killing. They are paid for risking their lives in order to protect the asses of people like you back home.

BTW yes they are fighting to protect our freedom. If we were not free, a comment such as the one you posted could have landed you in jail or a "reeducation camp". We are in wartime. Sometimes we have to temporarily give up certain freedoms during wartime in order to help the cause. It is constitutional.

It is very normal to be scared and yet to followup and do what you feel is right regardless of what may happen. My nephew is a Marine with the Air wing and is in the Middle east right now.

There is not a day that goes by that I am not thinking of him and wish I was there in his place. Everyone is very proud of him especially his grandfather is passed away 5 years ago.
