A consortium led by 80's rocker Axl Rose has won the race to take over Wrexham FC after a bid fronted by the club's current chairman fell through.

"As a result Mr Rose's bid has been accepted and Mr Dicken's has lapsed." and that a further announcement will be made "once completion has taken place."

"Our hopes for the football club are visionary, strategic and sustainable, and will protect the long-term future of the club,"said a delighted Irving Azoff (Rose's manager)

I remember those days so well. A brilliant compilation of highlights; well done Grandad47 ! Those were exciting times; honestly, we never contemplated home defeat with that squad ! Fortress Racecourse it surely was; money in pocket was NOT the issue for players. I hope our current/future squad watch this & listen carefully to what Bobby Shinton said regarding "tears" from 77/78 & wanting to put it right the next season. They did, of course in sensational fashion !!!
