Strange.. CS4 will not let me adjust my Paint Falloff to settings any higher that 55. When I try, it tells me that 55 is the max and that it has substituted my setting with 55.
first import ur 3d mesh, then change the position of ur model like, if u have to texture front face then change position to frnt, nd if u want to texture ear then change position to side,.......
wat u r doing is u applying texture in all views, look in photoshop watever the position is in frnt ll be textured so before texturing just make it clear wich portion u hav to texture, for side portion goto side view,
First of all: this series is one of the best about texturing I've seen so far.
Only one problem: I exported a blender file as an obj but in Photoshop when I put a texture over it and hit ctl + e the texture is not just painted on, but put in every mesh in the 3d object. Any ideas on how to solve this?
Well, I finally found out what I did wrong and want to share it in case anyone else has the same problem.
I didn't put seams on my model, so it was impossible to unfold my model. To put seams on a model in blender, select a row of vertices that, if deleted, would cut the model in 2 parts. Then press ctrl e and select Mark Seam. Now you can export it as an obj.
To import from photoshop, select the 3d menu and then select export 3d layer. Export as obj. In Blender you can import the exported obj
unwrap it...perhaps. usually when a texture is repeated over and over on an object is because it doesn't know where to place it. try unwrapping it. if you already have than I do not know what is causing this problem.
yea but he's showing us all the possible steps, not just the required ones. if u get good at using PScs4 then i bet its a lot quicker. awesome video, it helped me to learn photoshop.
i start to understand why hollywood makes so many Zombie and vampier movies.

What else can you use, to import into Photoshop as an obj file? I want to paint onto head and body meshes.

PS is not the primary tool for these works but it may come in handy anyway.

Photoshop is the primary tool for every texture artist I have ever met.

VERY INCORRECT! It is the Primary texturing tool for nearly EVERY 3D artist.

Wow, so much work for so little. Could have done this in Bodypaint with a few clicks and gotten much better feedback quality while doing it.
Still love photoshop tho'...

Also agree, Bodypaint has its functions. One thing body paint doesnt have though is a good "warp transform" tool.
