wow....... beautiful....... that takes the stress of dealing with a brat teenage son completly away...... wakeing up to that there aren really words to describe it
wow, loved the images in this vid! especially the frost on the tent and the water running under the ice!! but, i think my favourite shot of all is the silhouette of the berries against that fantastic sky at about 2:30! amazing!! .. =D
@kookiemoose -oh i've been watching.. i just don't know what to say, other than the stock words and phrases used to describe the beauty that is mother nature. your camera work is most excellent and your editing just the same. keep it up, boss. you'll only get better.
@NoviceIndustries Yea, i know what you mean, some of my favorite places on the tubes, are places I quietly observe from. There are a couple few channels I have observed for long periods, enjoyed, and not a peep...
Many thanks for taking us places we will never get to go! You've let us in on little secret places that we would have maybe not even noticed if we were there.
@cheesestr4wz Sometimes it is the little things in life that give us the greatest pause. Whoever said that was right. I certainly have paused many a time. I guess we both have. It's humbling really. Thank you.
@wawhiker Thank you. It's a place that has me saying the exact same thing time and time again. It might be we are more fortunate than most for doing what we do. Be it in the Cascades, or the Appalachians.
Superb video! and editing. You know my love for that area and you display such beauty that many people never get to see. Thanks for sharing your experiences with us on The Trail :-) Always look forward to seeing them.
Breathtaking my friend. I realize the camera you use makes a big difference but have you alos taken some photography classes because you take this over the top .
@medicjimr thanks Jim. My camera has some huge limitations that make even simple shots a challenge, due to the all manual nature of it. I'm self taught, with no class haha! No, but seriously I think you and I are both the kind of people who can adapt, and by choice, I guess that is what I am doing, by choice...
@FromUnderTheRock I'm not going to pretend I'm some tough guy, and I wasn't cold up there. When I saw that band of orange in the morning, I was rooting the sun on, to rise, and warm shit up.
I like how you're able to spot the beauty in things that most people would just walk right by. Another awe inspiring video my friend. Beautifully done.
@RamblinAround Thanks Jeff. Relative to your comment; yesterday I drove out to the trail to make a video. I thought I'd cover some ground. Four hours later I had only moved about 100 feet with my camera haha.
@cisjohn2616 Sleeping in a bag that's "just right" makes a tremendous difference. A bag that keeps you warm when there's ice forming outside the tent or hammock is worth it's weight in gold.
I don't know what state this is but I'd like to guess: Tenn, or North Carolina.
@mrsparex I agree!, and some almost cost as much as gold per down oz. If I showed Capt. John the receipt to my old down bag, he'd look at me like I was crazy, and probably bring a gas generator with an electric blanket out to the AT.
The video here was captured in SNP, North District, near Marys Rock.
@cisjohn2616 You wouldn't believe what hikers shell out for good goose down these days, it would blow your mind. I got mine wholesale from Western Mountaineering.
