heavy+AWD+power= good acceleration >> Heavy+late braking= not good.

There's also a huge weight difference that the BNR34's have to compensate for on the corner's as well though, considering they weigh in at 3400lbs without weight reduction.
I would love to do this in my del sol built d16z6 making 300whp @ 10psi (low boost) and it doesn't put up that much resistance through the apex and exit so it might catch them coming through the straightaways not too sure though the ek9 is beast in stock form so boosted with suspension might make it faster
Honda does very well, if it is the stock engine on boost it should be a B16b. So to keep up with RB26dett and RB25dett, is something to be proud of. How ever if the race is somewhat long or drawn out the Honda really has no chance being that its FWD, pushing a car the way the drive is doing will kill the tires on a FWD because the do everything, the steering and the pulling. basically hes going to cook those tires they are going to get greasy and he wont be able to push the same pace
Where the Civic gains on the GTR is in the corner entry and braking, But to tell you the truth, they are pretty even since the GTR outperforms the civic in corner exit.
Anyhow, still pretty impressive... though I really don't think that in the long run the Civic can outlast the GTR. Going that fast and with that much power, the front tires of the civic will be shredded in a matter of few laps.

This car is LIGHT, plus it's definitely a seriously built engine and turbo charged. It's got a very aggressive chassis set-up and a driver that knows the car VERY well. It's like an rapier in the hands of a very skilled fencer vs. a bunch of body builders holding broad swords!
@whitepowa its a 1800cc engine the type R version if im not mistaken came with a b18c5 engine so that would be 1.8 l 4 cyl DOHC vtec and it says that has a turbo so maybe is making like 280 or 300 hp could be more...

ok first off, if you dont know anythign about hondas you do not have the right to talk shit on hondas, that goes with any manufacturer. you most def do not need 25k to make 400whp in a civic hatch. with all the money you spend on a skyline + that 25k you are at close to 90k. with a 5k honda you only need 15-20k depending on the aftermarket parts you use to make 400whp. that price difference cannot be beat with such a reliable vehicle. especially the power to weight ratio.

this car has a b16b that has been bored/stroked to 1800cc and turbo charged to 480+bhp, it's not vtec thats keeping it with the back skylines it's forced induction, if it was converted to 4wd then it would be a track monster, cannot get the power down as early as the skyline but a serious little car all the same
Of course not, but you don't need to spend 100k on a skyline to make it that fast. Few engine mods, fuel management, turbo, intercooler etc etc. Coilovers, exhaust, roll bars. throw 25k into a skyline and you are sitting at 600bhp. But to get a civic to 400+ hp and make it so it dosent explode as soon as you turn it on takes a lot more money

@drft911 I would believe differently from that, I've even seen well tuned out stock Hondas running outstandingly well, exceeding even most turbo cars. Well just to point out, you were saying that the honda cheated using a turbo? Lol, its not like a skyline does not have a turbo, as a matter of fact, the skyline has a V6 engine, while a honda is only having a V4, that means a 1.6-1.8 V4 turbo, VS a 2.6 V6 turbo engine, and still ur saying the honda cheated? ok first off, if you dont know anythign about hondas you do not have the right to talk shit on hondas, that goes with any manufacturer. you most def do not need 25k to make 400whp in a civic hatch. with all the money you spend on a skyline + that 25k you are at close to 90k. with a 5k honda you only need 15-20k depending on the aftermarket parts you use to make 400whp. that price difference cannot be beat with such a reliable vehicle. especially the power to weight ratio.

this car has a b16b that has been bored/stroked to 1800cc and turbo charged to 480+bhp, it's not vtec thats keeping it with the back skylines it's forced induction, if it was converted to 4wd then it would be a track monster, cannot get the power down as early as the skyline but a serious little car all the same

Of course not, but you don't need to spend 100k on a skyline to make it that fast. Few engine mods, fuel management, turbo, intercooler etc etc. Coilovers, exhaust, roll bars. throw 25k into a skyline and you are sitting at 600bhp. But to get a civic to 400+ hp and make it so it dosent explode as soon as you turn it on takes a lot more money
