With a breakaway ensuing and headed the other way, Franzen shouldn't have tried to draw that penalty... there were so many other chances Detroit had to penalize San Jose in this game and Franzen chose the worst time to do it for Detroit. Luckily for us, the faceoff 30 seconds later resulted in a game winning goal. Great series nonetheless.

@jeewanjee It was huge. Franzen laid on the ice trying to draw a call, allowing a Marleau and Heatley 2-on-1 in the opposite direction. Howad made the save, but it forced a defensive zone faceoff for the Wings and Marleau made them pay. Huge mistake by Franzen.

@largeelvis.. it wasnt a huge mistake by franzen, that was clearly a shot to the head, and if not that, clearly interference OR roughing. the refs did fuck us over in this series, but i have no reason to be mad at the sharks. they didnt control the calls. i hope the sharks win the cup. once again, even if he was faking a hit to the head, it was still interference and it did effect the play tremendously. franzen could have tipped it or gotten a rebound off a deflection.
