My husband & I saw these on 6.22.2010, @ about 9:50pm: the power went out in our neighborhood- in Pasadena MD - in every house except ours, which was odd to begin with. Husband backed in driveway, was there about 1 min., then the 3 orbs came right over top of us. He handed me his camera. Took 5 shots, only one came out. This isn't the first time I've seen this.

As others have mentioned they are Chinese lanterns released for New Years Eve celebrations. Once they rise and get into different wind patterns they will float around, change direction, bump into each other, make formations etc. We've seen this hundreds of times on youtube yet for some reson people still like to believe they're "ufo's." Oh well, fantasy is more exciting than reality, I guess. Here's a good vid for comparison ...
@ufoguy1962 - that explanation might work for you, but we saw these too, not on NYE, but in June 2010, above our heads floating at about 150ft. I walked down my street and followed them, took 5 or 6 pix,only 1 came out. When I reverse negative the photo, there's all kindsa stuff going on. The one we saw in Davidsonville was gargantuan, had 2 orbs drop from it. We called them "scouts", as that's what it looked like they were doing. Got 5 photos that night. I think these are scouts.
That other guys video was satellites, this however is not, those lights are traveling at a much higher rate of speed then a satellite, and looked a whole lot closer to our atmosphere.

I mapped out the trajectory of EACH of them (the same) and according to the map they seemed to be heading toward Annapolis as I first guessed (via Dundalk, @ ironhardt) but it's hard to tell how far away they were. I am really curious as to a) why they were going pretty much DUE south and b) how hot they were (we were seeing bright white center with a decidedly ORANGE corona, implying some high Kelvins) and c) how far away they were. They were all going due south.

@nemliveproductions Ricky, you are right. when I saw the objects, I ran as fast as I could to get my camera. I opened the viewfinder and set the camera down and they were almost gone. I did get the shot with the star in the background showing the speed and movement. If I am lucky enough to catch them again, I will let the action happen in the viewfinder and keep the camera still. I was trying get a close up and see if I could see a solid object. It all happened very fast.

Dude, I just watched something very simular over Dundalk about a half hour ago. It freaked me out. I was just standing outside taking a smoke and it happened. They were NOT planes or choppers. They were way to fast and bright. They were headed South East. I came inside Googled "UFO Baltimore" and got your video. I'm not a big believer in this stuff but tonight has changed that forever.
We were driving home in Southern Maryland (a couple hours south of Baltimore) shortly after midnight and saw a flash of light to the East. At first we thought it was lightning, but once at home saw how perfectly clear the night sky was. That's when we figured it was a meteor that we saw. Then went in search of other reports, landing here.
I think you got some good shots of a few meteors arriving in Earth's atmosphere and taking awhile to burn up. Awesome video and great timing!
I live in Ashburn Virginia and at approximately 12:30 am, I saw the exact same lights. They kept coming in waves and I counted roughly 20-30 lights. Could be lanterns but it's a long way between Baltimore and Ashburn.
If this one is real then that's a great catch. Definitely not lanterns as lanterns don't start moving then stop moving. Lights like that though could have also easily been done with After Effects. Could also be one of those "Stealth Blimps" I've been hearing about the government testing. They're rigid air ships and come in many shapes, one of the prototypes being a tirangle. Great footage if it's real.
