I have a question about Hercules. Unlike most cats that are overweight it seems like hes just large in general. Is it a weight problem or is he just like that? If it is a weight issue is he on a specific diet? My friend Valerie has a big cat who she always gets yelled at for because he is so large but the fact is it isnt a weight issue, the cat is on a special diet but it doesnt change the size. I know a lot of people who see a big cat and yell at the owner. Do you experience this?
Hercules here is a tom. With neutering being now widespread, most people don't get to see just how massive entire males can get - their heads/jowls, chests and musculature in general. With a few lbs of winter fat put on for the cold and scarcity of prey, and evenpossibly having descent from British Shorthair breed (v hefty) - well, you can see!
like kraken said, male cats can be extremely stocky, especially if they are not nuetered or the nuetering happens later in the cats life when they are more developed. my cat sam for example, i had to wait over a year to get him nuetered and hes HUGE, all muscle too.
He probably isn't a pedigree cat but he looks most like a British Shorthair: they are big, stocky, chunky cats with very dense coats. Brown tabbies (tiger cats) like Hercules are the most common coat type/colour.
You can often tell the difference between big chunky cats like Hercules and those who are all fat and genuinely overweight. The latter tend to be shaped rather like big slugs, with a little head.

I'm so glad you found each other again. I love cats and I have 2 I adore. I wouldn't know what to do if either of them disappeared. I know what you mean about them loving you unconditionally!

spread the word... My son was saved by a transplant too. Everyone should be willing to give up organs of deceased loved ones and yourselves... The dead no longer need them and the living can go on and enjoy life.

"Redplanetlover" Yes, organ donation saves lives. Too many people who want to donate at death, have relatives who don't honor their request though, because doctors still have to ask for permission. It should be required . . . Unfortunately, because the last thing we need is more government in our lives.
