Of course life is sacred and the best way to prevent rape, teen pregnancy, stds, etc is through education, if we reinforced sex education and had a more mature view on sexuality, those problems would greatly decrease. Ultimately it boils down to control, it is impossible to control everyone. Christianity was created to help people improve themselves by getting them to think critically, and do what's best for them, because everyone has different needs.

Sir, I strongly suggest that you take the time to read the New Testament it will answer many of your questions. People can easily take a bit of scripture they have heard and make a mock of it. Yet it is plain to see their total ignorance simply because they have not taken the time to study it. What does God say about abortion, gays and lesbians? The answers sought are not very hard to find. I say this humbly. I suggest Romans 1:18 and read on to chaper 3. Or better still the whole book of Romans

Rape is any act of sex that is forced upon a person. In 2005 there were around 150.4 million women who were raped in the US. About 1 out of 10 people are survivors. Try telling a woman, who got pregnant after being raped, that she doesn't have the right to abort the baby that she didn't ask for, the very reminder of the most horrific experience of her life. If a woman has consensual sex then yes she should have the baby. Who are we to control others? It is the woman's right to abort or not.

Yes a person is dying, but an act of brutality and injustice was done to the victim, shouldn't the victim have a right to chose wether or not to donate his or her organ? I think it is wrong to say no.

thanks for agreeing its human...but you're trying to justify murder on the grounds of what the person thinks is moral, slightly different situation...abortion=human will live a healthy life unless they're killed by external factors. while the person who needs the organ is on the path towards death because of internal factors, its life, we cannot choose who lives and who dies we can only protect life, i know its horrible and it tears people apart inside, but God declared life sacred

It is a massively complex issue. Of course life is sacred and the best way to prevent rape, teen pregnancy, stds, etc is through education, if we reinforced sex education and had a more mature view on sexuality, those problems would greatly decrease. Ultimately it boils down to control, it is impossible to control everyone. Christianity was created to help people improve themselves by getting them to think critically, and do what's best for them, because everyone has different needs.

yeah I know I was confused too, I think maybe the website i got it from got it wrong. One site says "According to the National Crime Victimization Survey, there were 198,850 rapes and sexual assaults measured in 2003." So I think the site was wrong, and had it in millions instead of thousands.

The ruling elite ARE hypocrites for evoking the Christian faith. The common core belief IS 'thou shall not kill' and 'vengeance is mine sayeth the lord' Be it healthcare, poverty, death penalty, war, or a hundred other things, they are on the wrong side of Christ.

The Bible is rubbish, and the Catholic church (more murderous than the present day Muslims) and the Phelps' family are proof positive (see "The Most Hated Family in America"). The book was written by human beings, trying to convince the masses of whatever their agenda was at the time. Some of them were really pissed by a rash of gay fellows doing what they do, and needed to convince them to stop. Is there a more powerful method of convincing them than to promise eternal pain and suffering?

Who cares what the Bible says about morality? According to the old testament people should be executed for not observing the Sabbath (see Numbers 15 where a poor man is stoned to death because he was gathering sticks on the Sabbath). Infact, cursing your parents or even eating Lobster are all sins, punishable by death, according to this book of fairy tales. The Bible is a horrendous mish-mash of contradictions that is utilised by hateful bigots to justify their selfish, twisted lives.

Nice straw man. Even the most rigid Protestants would hold to the ENTIRE Bible, and there's plenty in the Bible to support being against abortion and against homosexuality, including at least two passages against homosexuality by Paul. There's lots of other crazy stuff in the Bible, and you could advocate genocide, war, rape, slavery, etc. using it as well, but then you'd have to be knocking Christians generally, not Republicans.

I am pro-life. That is to say I don't want anyone to have an abortion. But reality isn't always about what we WANT. There will always be abortions, back rooms, coat hangers whatever. Christians in this country have it backwards. We focus on changing the laws instead of people's hearts. As long as we HATE others they will never listen and we can never change their hearts. As long as we focus on laws and 'converting' others instead of loving Christianity in this country is a failure.

God Himself condemned homosexuality, calling it an abomination in Deuteronomy. He also called children a gift in Psalms, and since Jesus is God, it's safe to say He did condemn homosexuality. And yes, Jesus by default condemned racism and rape as well, since they are acts of violence.

This is not true. Recorded evidence of induced abortions go as far back as 515 BC (see http://www.answers.com/topic/history-of-abortion for more information). I'm not offended by opposing opinions, but to state that abortion didn't exist during biblical times is a flat out factual error.
