If you were a true anime fan, you should avoid watching Volton and stay with Golion.

I seriously don't understand why so many people complain about Golion due to its soundtrack and the fact that the plot does not make sence to them.

Seriously, I reccomend Voltron for those who are fans of 4Kids anime dubs.

Exactly. As a teenager, I always despised the Americanized version and desperately sought out the original. Yes, GoLion has way more meaning and is clearly superior.

For old Voltron fans reading the comments, don't be put off by comments about being a "true anime fan" and the like. You don't have to like anime to appreciate the original Golion. It actually *is* better, and I'm no fan boy.

@Guyverman01 Seriously, I like both. True the storyline was better in the original Golion. But i think the music, while still corny either way, was better in Voltron. Also, I don't speak or know Japanese & aint too fond of having to read subtitles for a whole episode constantly. BUT You seem to be missing the fact that if it hadn't been 4 that "made 4 kids" (as u put it) version known as voltron Today, NO ONE WOULD EVEN KNOW THE SHOW EXISTED.

@LionVoltron1984: That's true, also I watch Robotech and Macross. They both are good. I love Robotech's music over Macross because it's more action pack and fit the battle. Macross battle music was OK, but Robotech music fit better in battle. I could say the same thing for Voltron, the iconic music made the show more active and has more feel then the Japanese version. The Japanese version just use the same music I hear in old school mecha anime. Not quite inspiring.

@Guyverman01: I am a true anime fan. But you should not be mad at Voltron because it was dumb down. We didn't have Youtube, Hulu or DVDs to get uncut anime.  the 1980's were different from today. Why are you complaining? Just to be fair, Japan edited our cartoon when they brought it to Japan, are you going to complain about that, or are you going to say that American cartoon deserve it. I love Voltron and I watch the Japanese version. Both of them are good.

@Guyverman01 true,, but serious the Go Lion music is TERRIBLE! lol How about a version of Go Lion that has the musical "one plus one.." transformation river dance" cut out. Then I could watch it. Better yet.. a completely uncut english dub with the american soundtrack! That would be the bee's knees :)

I think the island with the lava juice was the best. It clearly was blood they were bathing in and drinking but they called it lava juice!

Am I the only one who finds it strange that the Voltron version of the episode is called "The Deadly Flowers" in spite of the fact that the flowers don't actually kill anyone? That's what "deadly" means!

The show did have some awfully blatant edits to avoid the subject of any living creature to EVER get killed at all but to be honest this wasn't one of them.

After all its not like its one of those various graphically violent scenes in the show. The script in both scenes still do work. (And to be honest getting people sick from the flowers does make a bit more sense than just killing them.)

But still while the show did have some bad edits this wasn't all that bad really well IMO.

Sincline (Lotor) sent the flowers to Arus (Altea), and since he was in love with Fala (Allura) and he knew there was a good chance she'd smell the flowers, he probably convinced Honerva (Haggar) to make the flowers so that Fala would be immune to the poison.
