  • Freedom Fart!

  • i love that roaring gunnoise.

An insurgent hearing that gun: Lucky Guy

    The others: Shit happens.

  • I was NCOIC Range Control 91-94

  • CRY OF THE DRAGON

  • The devils ring tone !!

  • if anybody knows them two hog drivers that low passed tornado ravaged joplin, mo. tell em thanks. looked and sounded great!

  • it farted.

  • US AIR POWER AT ITS BEST BABY,,,,,ITS HOW WE RULE OVER MUSLIM COUNTRIES,,,,KICK ASSS,,,,,,KICK MUSLIMS ASSSS

  • The only Aircraft that was buildt on it's gun!

  • The A-10 was upgraded in 2007 to the A-10C it can now drop JDAMS has a targeting pod new jammer, dual screens. F-16 stick, F-15 throttle. The Gun got re configured so that the pilot can do a burst as long as he likes. It now functions as a medium altitude Cas aircraft as well as a deep strike aircraft. Will be kept in service till atleast 2028.

  • BZZZZZZZZZZ

  • Du is not propelant DU is in the bullet its more dence than any metal so it will cut through the side top and rear of tanks.

  • It is a gun with a plane, not a plane with a gun

  • personally I think this thing looks damn sexy,

  • lol a fart

  • DU is used because it is a very dense metal. Therefore, when it is fired at a target at a high velocity, it packs a heavier punch. Like a bullet made out of styrofoam vs. a bullet made out of lead. DU is common in a lot of armor piercing rounds, like tank rounds.

  • Are those OV1 Mohawks being used as targets? sad...

  • Maybe... MAYBE, DU is used because when fired, DU is fired at a higher velocity that gunpower.

  • Crap, and i thought that my grandma's fart's were the most powerful

  • SEND A FEW TO THE MIDDLE EAST AND SHOOT THOSE BASTARDS TO HELL!!!

  • "because its got a big gun" xD so true

  • If that gatling gun could shred tanks I don't want to imagine the gun being fired at infantry targets!

  • The roar of a Hog... Get some/.. :)

  • so why is it called the warthog? Is it the sound the gun makes? That distinct war of the worlds type sound?

  • AMAZING PLANE

  • The ROAR

  • I was ops office at Pil Sung in the early 90s, that was a great assignment, an air show almost every day!

  • "Calling it a big gun might be an understatement" is, itself, an understatement. The thing fires the same round as a light tank, and with 7 times the barrels!

  • i think skyoon might be the only person not alking out of their ass on this page

  • I was stationed there 82-83. TDY. We built the small building there. Very remote. The range and the A10 is Kick Ass! Imagine ten A10's coming at you.

  • Calling it a big gun might be an understatement, I think calling it a huge gun would still be! the GAU-8 is massive!!

  • It does not sound like a fart its the gatling gun sounds is slower than speed lol.

  • For those unaware, depleted uranium is used because its one of the heaviest materials available. The goal of any weapon is to deliver the most mass possible, in the smallest volume possible, at the highest speed possible, within required mission constraints.

Depleted uranium weapons do however create dust which is toxic and does cause many issues in war torn areas.

  • I had one of these double as an alarm clock once for me. We were at Ft Indiantown Gap in PA waiting on 203 grenades napping under a tree when all of a sudden, a gigantic zipper in the sky opened up. at least thats what it sounded like. Needless to say we woke up pretty damn quick. The A-10 range was at one time just on the other side of the 203 range

  • at 0:20 it sounds like the soldier farted lol

  • OH YES SIZE DOES MATER

  • I miss seeing these in the UK. They made such a distinctive noise

  • Wish they would transition to guided rockets. 70mm + SALH or GPS beats 30mm any day.

The A-10 missed out on it's best long spear with the AGM-65D taking so long to reach the field, and the Scene Mag being near useless in Euro weather.

They initially qualified the ideal ATGW as the AGM-114 Hellfire as early as 1979.

One of the nice things about being vulnerable to bird strike from the back being that you can basically share anti tank ordnance development with the grunts.

  • it sucks!!! looks like a pice of shit, it provably was good at its time but I'm sure the russians or other armys in the world had better planes, the japanese zero kiked i american ass plans for a long time per example lol!!! keep living in the past!!!! lol!!!!

  • @deltroh You Suck! major- C, it is the best functional plane in the arsenal, it needs some upgrading, possibly the option for remote control flight and weapons deployment to destroy hostiles on some missions, too vulgar for the pilots , but remain a fully flyable aircraft. change your screen name to de troll, lol!!!.

  • Song are very cool 0:20

  • i love the gatling gun

  • GAU-8 FTW!!!

If you hear the GAU-8, you better run, cause you probably were not it's initial target. Most people that fall never hear the gun.

  • Because its got a big gun. LOL

  • Awesome

  • 1 of my favorite Planes.

  • Yup, the DU penetrator is at the core of the bullet...it isn't in the propellant. Seriously...WHY would someone even THINK that DU would be a propellant in a bullet? LOL. LOTS of misinformation out there...from the same people who will tell you a Cessna 421 and a Mitsubishi Mu-2 went down because of bad fuel at the same airport. LOL. NEVERMIND the FACT that those two aircraft use completely DIFFERENT fuel.

  • BRRRAP

    ...scuse me

  • Sexiest noise in the world that...

  • Look away from your computer at 2:02 and pretend that distant sound of the gun firing is coming from a few miles from your house. That shit is spooky. Sound like Godzilla over in the next valley or something, hunting you down.

  • AMERICAN MIGHT!

  • ...nice jacket!!

  • The A-10 shoots 3 types of bullets: HEI (High Explosive Incindiary), CM (Combat Mix - a 5:1 ratio of DU and HEI rounds respectivly), and TP (Target Practice). At the range, A-10's only shoot TP rounds. There's no depleted uranium. We only load CM to go against an enemy with armor (tanks, apc's, etc. N/A in current wars).

  • I hear that they've introduced plutonium in some of the rounds.

  • As infantry we loved these planes and the ones that flew them to cover our butts.sure were glad they were on our side.thanks!

  • I'd give my bag to fly an A-10. Guns and airplanes,, What a beautiful mix. god damn we got some good shit here in the U.S. !!!

  • its not really the gun making the noise its god farting bc hes so amazed :)

  • The depleted uranium penetrator is in the tip of the round, not the gunpowder. I can't really fathom why you think the US would put DU in its bullet's propellant....

  • I think he though it used a nuclear reaction to propel the round.

  • @skyoon why would you put depleted uranium in the tip of it?

  • @dragefyr it melts armor.

  • @skyoon hahahaha thats like |---| this close to being a tiny little dirty bomb :P

  • yeah cause they use depleted uranium as a propellant to fire the round.

  • the uranium is used for the projectile of the round because of its very high density, very low price and abundance. how could a dense metal be used as a propellant??

  • LOL, WHAT AN IDIOT, DU WOULDN'T DO JACK SHIT AS A PROPELLANT, wow, that was just plain stupid/hilarious, i hope you're kidding

  • Umm, it's not a propellant dude - depleted uranium is RICOCKULOUSLY dense and heavy.

Now, get a slug of that material up to a very fast velocity and hit something with it.

    Get the idea now?

  • no...

  • I see now that you were responding to that other dude. sorry man.

  • You do realize the depleted uranium is in the tip of the round itself and not the propellant right?

  • Worng ! it's in the bullet tip to penetrate the armor

  • No, they use delpeted uranium IN the bullet itself, as added mass. It's extremely dense for it's volume, thus more kinetic energy upon impact. It's like having a larger bullet, only in a smaller package.

  • *depleted*

  • PILSUNG!!!!!

  • PILSUNG PILSUNG!

Man, sometimes I really miss the Draggins...

  • Wow! This is way better than the typical indoor pistol range.

You will get riddled with bullets before you can even hear the gun firing. In Iraq and Afghanistan, the A-10 was nicknamed by the enemies " Silent Gun". It if rains A-10 bullets you better get under and really think slab of steel or get out it's receiving end.

Depleted uranium tips packs some serious puch to even the thickest armors.

  • The problem is that even the most basic MANPADS will outrange the CM on a low angle run & you can't do high angle in mixed threat conditions with collateral presence. At high slant, the HEAT round falls out of the mix, ballistically, due to lower mass & this is the round you want to have blowing up rather than arrowing in when engaging a soft area target. We also do ourselves & our rep no favors by deposting DU in the ground as a long term toxic as much as radiological threat.

  • you would need more than steel my friend

  • lol, "it will strike fear into the enemy...because its got a big gun" most awesome and true comment EVER, I love the A-10, the sound of that gun sends shivers down my spine.

  • He gets the powder of the gun on him? That DU will fu$k him up then.

  • umm no it won't, depleted uranium is very weakly radioactive, in fact, the particles it emits cant even pierce your skin. ALSO, the gun powder doesn't have deplete uranium in it, the sabot penetrator does. I have a shell from one of these gatling guns at home, and its awesome :)

  • yea in a block form the stuff is pretty safe. in fact that's the stuff they use to shield your balls from x-ray machines and other medical radioactive stuff because it's so dense, it's the people that breath in the dust and spend their lives in areas with loads of the stuff everywhere that are seeing the effects of it.

  • Agreed, but the metal itself is highly toxic (as a soluble salt {tho not as bad as plutonium}) as are many other heavy metals.

  • DU, in it's solid form is mostly harmless. That is, until it impacts something like a Russian tank, vaporizes and the vapors/particles are breathed into the lungs. Causes cancer and other things associated with Gulf War Syndrome. DoD finally admitted to that a few years ago after years of denial.

  • whats the purpose of DU? the density?

  • The problem with this basically accurate statement is that when the bullet goes down the barrel, it's shedding all the way. Copper jacketing material, powder nitrates and potentially some DU is scraped off and carried back into the cockpit as muzzle gas. All of the above are unhealthy if _breathed in_. Weak Alpha Emitters are bad on wet tissue. Equally important, we have yet to get really good data as to the long term effects of the DU in the ground, API is certainly not a 'green round'.

  • The gas it produces as it vaporises on impact is highly toxic. And the particles went down to groundwater, which is why so many Iraqi deforment babys are born.

  • @warsawpact it would take around 2 kilos of that stuff to be digested before he would even get a stomach ache

  • I love the A10, its my favorite aircraft in the US arsenal.

  • I love it.

  • Farting bullets!

  • the farting machine gun

  • A fart that can easily tear through 500mm of hardened tank armor

  • wow

  • Hahaha 'oh yeah' - what a cheeseball. Some nice shootin though.

  • Awesome.
