Hey man these videos are excellent. I just took apart my ABS unit for my MK3 GTI VR6 to repair some solder joints and was wondering how it all worked. You answered all the questions perfectly. Keep on making these quality videos bud!
hi i have a question, i have a 99 jimmy and i can not blead my front bakes cause there is no fluid that will come out when i open the line at the master cylinder,Could this abs unit stop fluid from being released. On day i had to mash down to stop suddenly and i felt the brake pedal go to the floor. The jimmy will stop just dont have a good pedal and i have changed the master already, thanks
hi i had a problem with my car ABS system and also the hand brakes now i have been told that the brake shoes could be the problem so i took em off and recharged em and it worked for a while even the entire braking system seemed to be improved but after a month or so the braking system back to the former state ..i used when i hit the brake pedal feel like a roar beneath my feet and the car stop immediately now it's loose and i have to push harder is it the brake shoes or something wrong my ABS ?
@nickelback341 it sounds like you could have a bad wheel bearing on the car. if the bearing is really bad you will hear a growling sound while driving and it will get louder the faster you drive. sometimes when wheel bearing get that bad they devolop alot of movement in them and this pushes the pads or shoes out of contact with the rotor or drum causing a very low pedal and difficulty in stopping. hope this helps
@fatman2325 hey i have a 2006 suzuki liana (aerio) my car brakes dont stop the car completely when car is very slow at almost zero acceleration or say when im goin very slow downhill. i just had my brake serviced with brake pads replaced with new ones. the problem is still there.
is that some fault or ABS brakes feature that it doesnt stop the car completely in very low speeds or zero acceleration?
@sixpounder15985 i would need a bit more info on exactly what it is doing like does the brake pedal pulsate when you are applying the brakes at lower speeds or are there any buzzing noises. any other info you can give me on what its doing would be great and i'll see if i can come up with a few things for you to check
@fatman2325 the brake pedal doesn't pulsate nor there are any buzzing noises . it just feels too loose (i do not feel any back pressure on my foot from the brake) and and without effect even if i have pressed it down hard, the car slowly creeps to a stop rather than stopping instantly. but it only happens at very low speeds without adequate acceleration like on a busy road in rush hour traffic. and i get around it by accelerating at those places than brakes work just fine
@sixpounder15985 the only thing i can think of for you to check is to make sure that the vacuum booster is working properly and has a good vacuum supply to it and if you have rear drum brakes make sure that they are adjusted properly i don't think that this is an abs problem but i have never seen a problem like this so i may not be much help to you hopefully you can get it figured out
