SSRIs make anxiety worse, I don't know why antidepressants are used to treat anxiety. Lexapro is the worst, it was CAUSING anxiety attacks. I have vertigo, and I feel like I'm about to fall. I went on Clonazepam and it greatly helped with my vertigo and anxiety. The problem is doctors prescribing the wrong drug, instead of the older proven drug that is actually effective.

I then asked my doctor to get me off of them, so he slowly lowered my dose until I stopped. I still feel depressed but it was worse while taking pills.

glad to know at age 17 my psychiatrist gave no thought to the fact that it hasn't been approved for children under the age of 18 and prescribed it to me on my first visit. Thanks modern medicine the anxiety attacks during my cousins wedding were memories i will cherish forever.

My other favorite is "Depression MAY be caused by a chemical imbalance". Read between the lines, they're trying to mislead you to sell a product. Either that, or worse, they genuinely don't know what they're talking about. I'd get help that treats the whole person and not just symptoms.

These commercials are evil. They actually encourage having a victim mentality and send a "there's something wrong with you" message. The truth is that everyone feels down from time to time...sometimes VERY down, but you gotta power through it like the rest of the human race did before these evil, brain-zapping medications came out.

SSRIs make anxiety worse, I don't know why antidepressants are used to treat anxiety. Lexapro is the worst, it was CAUSING anxiety attacks. I have vertigo, and I feel like I'm about to fall. I went on Clonazepam and it greatly helped with my vertigo and anxiety. The problem is doctors prescribing the wrong drug, instead of the older proven drug that is actually effective.

What I hate most is that this commercial implies that YOU are HURTING everyone else with YOUR depression and that you are a burden on all of your family and friends that you need to just stop it and take this mind-altering medication that will give you so many side effects you won't even know what to do, but at least you won't be a pain in the ass to everyone else with your depression. Imagine if this same angle was used in regards to cancers. There is still no understanding for mental illness.

I'm on this stuff and I feel fine, I'm not taking it for depression but for nerve pain. personalty I think that the after effects mentioned are only because the people taking them are emotionally compromise and would be more well anxiously sensitive to the drug.but fucking hell what a shit advert, if I had seen this before taking it .I wouldn't of taken it. but listen to your doctor take what he feels you need.scientists are a very self doubting group, that test to extremes only to help us

How exactly does Cymbalta help if you're stuck in the bathroom all day with abdominal pain, nausea and constipation? And forget about getting up off the throne to go camping or out with the kids. That dizziness and fainting will keep you safe at home, locked away and no longer enjoying your life, because you were talked into taking this by your perk-loving doctor. They get so many kick backs from big pharma it's not even funny. I feel sorry for anyone on this stuff. It's just scary!

The withdrawls from this drug are horrific, my girlfriend,she just wants to end the brain zaps. Every since she started taking this crap she sleeps all day. Sure she felt great on the drug but she was always asleep. It changes you. Dont take this.

@TheBlingblingbros Hey Bling, I agree. I had depression (and I think i still do), but I had taken SSRI's and they made me feel terrible for two years. I then asked my doctor to get me off of them, so he slowly lowered my dose until I stopped. I still feel depressed but it was worse while taking pills.
