The only clue I have about Simone's story is the one she told Oskar the first night he helped her fall asleep. She may have helped some poor people when she shouldn't have. There must have been some connection between Mexico and Tenerife, Spain.

A very touching romance between two consenting adults. I don't quite understand Simone's character's story, though.

Just have a look on his face when she says goodbye!!!! How he is deeply touched and kisses her hand after they kissed each other the last time!!!! Incredible touching performance.
