@yugiohonline26 skate shoes are made for skateboarding, such as different outsoles, different toe caps, different cupsoles/vulcanized. with say...basketball shoes, they are not made for skating. meaning they are arched up, have no board feel because thats not what theyre made for, and the toe cap is usually for bling, not made for taking wear and tear from skateboard griptape.
