it's too bad that the foam covers prevent the use of actual Florentine style... The idea behind Florentine is to have a special dagger called a "parrying dagger" that has a with a wide cross-guard to catch the opponent's weapon in and thus control where your opponent's weapon goes. The parrying dagger is not meant to be used to strike with. That's not quite possible with foam padding :(
