Hungarian and English Warbow Distance Shooting

What were the distances? Do they have world record distance shots with regular hand bows?

@edbapemo I do not remember exactly as it was a while ago, I reckon it wa about 200 yrds. Not sure what you mean by hand bows but English warbow distance records fall into seperate catagories according to arrow weight. to find the top records, EWBS website, is where they are posted on.

Nice shooting, hey what wood do you use for your arrow shafts, i use poplar and it is not to durable.

p.s. how many yards were the bows shooting, it looks pretty far.

@warbowgeeks Thanks to ya mate! I use many woods depending on the bow, I find that ash is the best wood to use and is most durable, but polar and ironwood is good as well. Ive also found that red ceder works surprisingly well! If I remember correctly I was shooting 180 to 200 yards. I cannot remember Andre's.

Great work mate, with the english long bow try and get "inside the Bow" and lean forward on the draw not backwards, you think you will fall over but watch bigbowbrum and the boys. cant say much for the other bows as they simply dont compare to a #80 english long bow. Great vid tho and good luck to you.

@sorbothane Hey thanks man! I passes some of the shots that day and the furthest of the ones I pased was that the warbow shot 200 yards and the Hungarian bow shot 196 yards. those were far shots but I didnt pase them all and it depends alot on the arrow aswell.

I really enjoyed this video Jake, it is great. It is great to see two wonderful young archers: you and Andre be so passionate about such a great sport. The high quality movie shows the differences in the arrow speed between your longbow and the one Andre was using. I would estimate your bow would have arrows shoot about 250m and Andres' shoot about 90m. Could you measure the distance out for us please. Great movie. Thanks again..spasibo

@nicksynnz Hey thanks man! I really appreciate your comment! The furthest Ive pased the longbow was 200 yards (Im not sure in meters),Im not sure about the recurve, I pased it once and I believe I got 60 yards. could be wrong.
