Favorited, and added as the featured video on my channel. This at least BEGINS to explain the painstaking hours we put into this pastime, and I love it. The SFIV trailer is conceptually amazing, I just hate that it rides Ryu's nuts at the end, lol.
Even though I personally think the Daigo thing is now overhyped(yet, to it's time, it was great), you did a great job at making an intro for this years EVO. Really nice job.

no offense man but the level they were playing on sf III in 2004 is much higher than their final on SF IV on evo 2009, sf III is a much more technical game in all possible way. If it was great then, its even bigger now.

Did I mention SFIV anywhere? I personally avoid SFIV because of it's plainess - I really do prefer Third Strike. Even though I'm more of a KoF-player, but oh well.
But yeah, I agree with you, SFIII is WAY more of a technical game than SFIV. BUt at least SFIV got us some new players. Better than nothing.

I'm sorry to disappoint you, but KO, Wong and Daigo aren't the only guys playing this game. There are a LOT of other players, especially makoto, Q and Akuma.
Well duh. Just like Alpha was a step down compared to Super SFII Turbo, and just like New Generation was a step down compared to Alpha 3.
For a first iteration, it's a great game. Of course there are problems (shortcuts, huge reversal windows, retarded damage scaling, shitty blockstun and autoblock, useless throws), but SSF4 will fix that shit and be awesome.
Plus Third Strike had some retarded things too (meter-building, OP parrying, useless FB, half of the cast sucks, same with Super Arts).
I respect your reasoning because it's grounded by fact and not the OMFGZ SF4 is teh big !11 da colors is preetee dog and pony show.
However, fireballs aren't useless in 3s, half the cast does NOT suck and if that's option parrying you're referring to, that is beatable.
I won't lie, I'll be onboard the SSF4 train with everybody else but I'm honestly wondering if they can fix those issues so soon. I seriously don't want to put up with more of the same so here's hoping for the best.
That was rather well said. SSF4 will probably fix many problems that SF 4 currently has, just like Third Strike fixed many of the problems the other two iterations had.
Your kidding right? 3S is all footsies+throw mix ups. Those are like the bare basics of fighting games. I'm not even saying SF4 is good, neither game are really great examples of good fighting mechanics.
Footsies and throw mixups is barebones fighting game structure. That's what built the empire that is SF. 3s just changed things by throwing another element in the mix via parrying.
Thus making it A beats B, B beats C and C beats A. Then there's the situational breakdown of each in addition to the new characters and attacking options, I'd say 3s was at least an 8/10 in terms of fighting games. I'd say 9 but thats just me being biased.
3s is superb in it's own right and in comparison to 4
You didn't explain or say anything as to how parries supposedly add to the RPS nature of fighters. And that's probably because they don't. In the vast majority of cases you want to parry, it's just a matter of physically being able to do it. It's not a thought process or strategic decision. Blocking already beat attacks in SF2, In SF3 blocking beats attacks, and parries beat attacks even worse. Wow, really adding depth. That's why no one commits to anything in 3S. That's why it's all footsies.
Well it's not my fault if you don't get it but it seems more like you don't want to get it more than anything. In grounded situations you want to parry but that's what empty grabbing is for. People don't get why empty jump grab works. If you spend most of your time parrying it usually ends up being your downfall vs a thinking player. Come on man, ALL SF is footsies, so in essence you're saying NO SF is good right or fighting game for that matter?
I regret not being in the ballroom when this came on this year. It's brilliant, and very well done. I'd have to say this one and the SFIV one are my favs (so far...I still have a few more to watch), can't wait to see what you have up your sleeve for next year.
There are no words Chensor.... for how i feel. If more people did the work you do, or if you were fully recognized for what you do for our community, I think video games would finally move closer to taking the place they deserve next to movies and comics as a truly respected form of media entertainment. Thank you for doing what you love and being so good at it... as long as you do what you do, ill do what i do. and thats play games and support you in all the ways I can. "DREAMS DONT DIE"
Wow. I honestly am at a loss for words. Thank you very much, sir. I wish I could honestly say that I don't care about compliments and such and just enjoy doing these things for the fun of it, but I can't lie: it means a lot to me to hear you say something like that. I'm always happy to learn that people can enjoy things that I create. So, really, I must say "Thank you" one more time for the kind words. I am humbled by them.
Grande Valse Brillante In E Flat Major, Op. 18 by Chopin... although a caveat must be stated that Chopin's original piece is a pure piano piece (a beautiful one at that). The song used in this video happens to be a version re-written for a full orchestra that I happened to have on CD.

3rd Strike was also on its 6th year in 2004.
In 1999 when 3rd Strike first came out, people were saying that it was boring and simple when compared to Alpha 2 and 3. Give it time.
Most of the mechanics and tricks in Third Strike were not even fully realized until years into its life. SF4 is on its first year.
