  • haha! i was looking for Amsterdam during the soccer world cup and found this! yay!!

  • Riesiges Pferdi,

    tolle Reiterin!

  • even as a western trainer, i have to admit that western riding doesnt hold a candle to the horsemanship required for dressage. i truly admire thiese performances

  • Ja unser Isabellchen , ich finde sie ist noch eine der fairsten Reiter gegenüber ihren Sportlern , die Übergänge sind echt h a doppel m e r !!!

  • I'm a Dutch rider. I try to be so good as her. She's so good!

  • i am a german rider and yes she is using rollkur and my horse was riddan atthis and i had to lern the horse to do no rollkur and that was hard work

  • ...and sometimes horses (depending on their bloodlines) naturally go into hyperflexion and maybe on the video you saw isabell was trying to fix the horse's natural hyperflexion...? look, I know because I have a Hanoverian who (because of his bloodlines), naturally (and accidentally) goes into hyperflexion. we're trying to fix it. I think an olympian would try to do the same thing, too!

  • @RRhapsodylover "I think an olympian would try to do the same thing, too!" keep on believing that ;(

  • @Jefrma hey it might be a long shot in believing that she is trying to fix the hyperflexion, but I can't automatically dis her from one video. Give me more proof and I would believe it.

  • @RRhapsodylover so this is the first vid you´ve seen of her? or even heard of her? It´s horseworldwide-known fact she uses -uKnowWhat-. Though it is stupid to bring up only few names anymore, since the method is so widely used around the world and not only among the "top"sporters Im afraid.. spent a lot of time around the net searching and learning and you´ll find the aswers.

  • YEAH, and you know for a fact that she rides like that ALLL the time? okay, all riders make their mistakes, but SOME people like to find the mistakes in great riders and point out that mistake just to make themselves feel better...

  • i dont like her music. for me its stress. But what a rider...

  • WaHnSiNn!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This video is great!!! It looks like her horse is dancing =P. Um, Can I use this in a power point presentation that I am making? I am a big fan of Isabell Werth

  • can i use this in a video im making? i'll give you credit!

  • almost as good as anky

  • sorry, but I think Isabell is better... :-)

  • That is a beautiful animal.

    And a beautiful ride. :)

  • the horse looks so airy! i love the saddles too.... i used to use it all the time

  • Isabel´s horses look a lot more relaxed and happier during competitions and training, and that´s because of the classical training methods she uses. She doesn´t use rollkur like Anky does. Salinero, for example, looks like a dof that is forced to do some tricks by electric shocks

  • cookiemonsterz - Honestly! There is a video of isabel riding hyperflexion. So dont be so stupid! isabel certianly doesnt ride on classical methods. hyperflexion is the best method. And even your prescious Isabel rides this way too!

  • look honey, the Germans ride on nothing BUT the classical method! please study the Germans riding system, ESPECIALLY if you make a comment like that about isabell werth

  • sorry RRhapsodylover but youre wrong. Isabel does use hyperflexion i have seen videos of it! i never said it was a bad thing the point was that she uses it as well.

  • Can anybody tell me why theres a "FRH" behind isabells horses names?

  • I'm not 100% sure, but I think it is something to do with the German Equestrian Federation, as there are a few German horses and horses bred in Germany with the same affix.

  • WOW! that extended trot amazes me!

  • absolutely beautifull!

  • boa die is ja sooo toll =D *.*

  • who won that competition?

  • Anky Van Grunsven and Keltec Salinero (well IPS Salinero now)

  • yer, why did he change his name?

  • She is better than anky and she doesnt use rollkur like anky does... I saw her 2 years ago in Roterdam she was amazing. I want to see her again because here in greece we dont see anything like this even in 10 years

  • Beautiful,

    she rides perfectly!

I like the way the speaker says: WARUM NICHT :-)

  • Gorgeous.

  • i wonder if shes riding in an isabell werth saddle??? lol HEHEHE

  • OMG! i love those saddles, such deep seats

  • ´Die gleiche Kür hatte Isabell auch in Stuttgart am German Masters dort habe ich sie Live gesehen

  • Obviously the horse has a lot of elegance but at times it appears as if it's difficult to hold it all together. I prefer Satchmo, it's more complete and compact somehow.

  • jonwp - oh soyou like these horses do you? all isabels horses are riden with hyperflexion and theyre all in a obvious modern outline. So you like isabels "abused" "rollkured" horses but no ankys? your a twat!

  • Actually Isabelle doesn't use Rollkur! I've seen her a lot of times in the warm up ring. She lets her horses come very deep at the beginning and a bit tighter than others but you can't call this rollkur. Her horses look very satisfied all the time.

  • actually isabel does use hyperflexion. And of course this isnt hyperflexion in the video, did i say it was? No, i said that she also trains with hyperflexion.

  • So did you ever see her in reality and can really tell what you've seen at tests, warm-up and training?!?! I bet not!! I did see her!

Well but let's stop that now...

  • deary, i have not only read that isabel uses hyperflexion but i have seen in come straight out of her mouth!

  • You have to disturbe between riding deep and forward to make the horse "round" and to activate hind leg like Isabell does and the fatal way of hyperflexion with non-atctive hind leg and without back like A.v.G. does. Isabell is the best rider of the world, A.v.G. is just a harm for horses, but rich enough to buy success.

And yes, I saw Isabell during training.

  • Sorry, "disturbe" is wrong, I meant: differ

  • and your point ?

  • "actually isabel does use hyperflexion" - it's your point, and this is just a meaning without truth. The way Isabell is riding should be an ideal for everybody who want's to keep horses healthy though their are competitive athletes.

  • that just make me so angry, did you for example see ankys test at athens? did you see her world record in rottendam? did you see her do her world record in freestyle 87%? you dont know a shit about it, and youre not even close to her level for sure, god im furious you can not buy a 9' position in the sadle as less as you can bye a ten scoring passage, just because she trains differently, which obviously you cant take, shes doing it and succesing with it, money isnt everything.

  • money takes you faar, pretty much upto grand prix level if you can bye the right horse, but for god sake lennowitch, anky started riding salinero like when he was 5! he wasnt all done and good, but she had faith in him you sicko. Like I said, money takes you there for sure, but it dosnt buy you the extra percent who makes you win a gold medal or a world breaking score, 8 world cup titels, WEG gold and hundreds of grand prix victories!

  • im sorry if I got to personal on you lennowitch but I just cant see why isabell should be treateded like an angel and anky a devil when infact jumpers have been riding their horses like this for ever and ever! get over it

  • Holy, he's AMAZING. Like the announcer said, he's so big, yet he has amazing balance and so light on his forehand. Im jealous! My sister has a 17.2 gelding, and he's amazing with his dressage- shows ya that the bigguns still can pull off perfection =D

  • For such a massive horse he is soo light on his feet

  • Warum Nicht has the cutest face ever!

  • I thought Warum Nicht should have won in `06. I love this horse. :)

  • She is the best dressage rider of the world i like it how she is riding

and wow to the end of this ride with one hand that great!!!!!

  • This kur was great! and I love Warum Nicht... how tall is he?

  • He stands at around 18 hands (6 foot).

  • so beautiful....

  • Dont worry its all good you sent me a email :)

  • Msmotty could you please let me know a bit more about you. I am very interested to know about you more because you said you were competing with isabell and anky. Do you have a clip here on youtube of yourself riding?

  • people seem to have alot to say about anky and not isabell. I have nothing bad to say about isabell werth and it pisses me off how people are so against anky

  • It is the same when you look at the videos of American dressage riders. I have yet to see one negative comment on them. Personally, I have nothing against Anky, Isobel and Alexandra as I was competing against them near enough week in week out when I was at GP level 7 years ago.

  • I just see things in some horses, rather than rider error that bug me, and I have never been known yet to practise diplomacy when giving comments. For example, the parralell curb that Anky is often cited as riding with is also seen with Warum Nicht and Gigolo, so one wonders whether it is a major factor, or just a fashion in dressage.

  • I would prefer to see a horse with long gangly legs than short stubby legs. But normal legs are just fine :D

  • My point was that, despite his size, Warum Nicht is built really well, and his legs appear a good length in proportion to his body.

  • Yep

  • Hes a nice horse and i believe hes got little movement for such a large horse. But thats not a put down

  • I agree. I first saw him at Olympia in 2005 and my first thought was about how small and cute he was! It was only later that I found out just how big he was. He really doesn't show it at all in his movement.

  • Some horses that are that size appear a bit gangly, all legs and end up not doing well. It is testament to Isobel's training that he doesn't appear that way. I also love the play on words with his name, as some people thought that he was too big for dressage hence the name - Why Not.

  • I think he is a good dressage horse and he is certainly not too big, the bigger the better as long as they dont become heavier. but in this case hes light on his feet.

  • actually a horse would naturally do most of the movements in the wild, pirrouette a horse would canter in a small circle to avoid being kicked piaff if a horse was excited or scared it would dance on the spot before running away you can not get results like this if a horse is not happy he just will not perform this well these horses live their work maybe you should look at the slaughter of horses before you criticize something you obviously know so little about

  • If you are responding to my comment, then I will point out that I was not critisising the movements the horses are asked to do, but the methods used to make some horses show a more extravagant version of their extended trot of piaffe and passage. Check my blog through my profile for my views on this subject, then critisise my comments.

  • Beautiful horse, ridden beautifully. He is one BIG gelding! He said he's near 18hh!

I have watched Anky's video too. Her music was amazing, arranged for her horses movement/ stride. It worked so well.

  • I never liked isabells music, but i'm comparing it to Anky, and she's unbetable but sure the horse do what it's upposed to. It looked a bit strange when she was riding in, in canter, warum nicht moved he's legs a bit weard. Beautiful passage and canter even tough.

  • So much natural cadence, none of this OTT movement. For such a big horse he is very light on his feet.

  • OTT movement????

  • Over The Top. Some horses have been trained by various exercises to make very extravagant movements that they normally wouldn't make. Unfortunately there are far too many of them at the top level of sport these days and it's often hard to tell what is natural and what isn't

  • love isabell werth and the way she trains her horses is brilliant. when i was living in germany i was watching on tv NDR her riding gigolo bareback and just headcollar leadrope in the school doing piaffe/passage with elegance. just shows you don't need a true contact using bridle and saddle. BRILLIANT!!

  • Yes i agree that it is hard to tell which horse has natural or trained movement but they still look good when they are over the top. I dont believe this horse is as nice as satchmo but its still good
