Huckabee is a populist who wants to create federal programs for things that Washington has no business with. He wants to change the Constitution to "God's view" of things. The Republican platform is suppose to be about defending the Constitution and limiting the size of government so that everyone, no matter what their beliefs, could live a free and prosperous life. Everything Huckabee says regarding federal programs and the Constitution just reminds me of a very liberal thinker.

Reagan was a Goldwater conservative just like Thompson. When Barry Goldwater saw the rise of the Christian Coalition in politics, he thought it was very dangerous to mix religious views with political views because it had the possibility of creating a theological fascist state much like Saudi Arabi is today. The evangelicals were never apart of the GOP's platform because they were the ones who elected Jimmy Carter into office.

It's not a Biblical debate as Huckabee wants it to be. It's about Huckabee putting HIS SIGNATURE under a statement saying "Wives should graciously sumbit to the husbands". Do you know you know how much that angers feminists? Huckabee is too controversial to be elected president, plus he's a pro-life democrat.

Man, people ALWAYS leave out the second part of that idea (just her husband, not all males PLUS the husband is to give up his life for the wife!), and have no idea what the first part even means anyway (it's just trust and respect, not slavery/ remove her mind/silence!). IF it meant what feminists hear when they hear it, it should make anyone angry.

Yeah, you're right... I am scared that a Christian Fascist is going to take over the republican party and make the government more powerful than it already is. What happened to limited government and personal liberties, the principles this country was founded on and this party was founded on. I've seen time and time again a populist candidate trying to get votes by making false promises. I'm sick of it!

I do support something if you paid any attention to my comment. I support freedom, I support personal liberties, I support state's rights, I support free open markets, I support the Constitution of the United States. Why is Huckabee so adament about changing th GOP platform to something that resembles socialism ran by a fascist regime? I reject what Huckabee's trying to do so that is why I'm supporting the only Goldwater conservative in the race, Fred Thompson.
