  • "If I don't do what I'm suppose to do when the wire snaps, I get chopped in half" intense stuff

  • Fucking sound editing ruins it.

  • Not being rude but im in the royal navy and i think that our uniform is much smarter (lieutenant commander - HMS ILLUSTRIOUS - 2nd in command of Medical Branch and im a Medical Officer)

  • @dougdolly Since when does having a "smarter" uniform help you to win the war on terrorism?

  • How can the pilots not know what they're doing in iraq? how do they allow these buffoons to fly?

  • I HATE America for lot of reasons, i wish Russian to go there and make war to steal something like they make war for damn OIL ....damn fuckers

  • @hristokiselinov - i'm an american and i'm frustrated too with our country, however, we need to realize that it isn't the face (country), it's the bankers, the same bankers that own and control russia, control our country. we are ALL asleep. It's the international bankers responsible for all our shit.

    go here:

    truthknowledge. com

  • @hristokiselinov In Russia, War make you

  • @daveconnon do they pay for grammar lessons?

  • @PBS Nothing on Electricians' Mates, Engine man, Machinist Mates, Electronic people who are responsible for making the entire ship operational and everything else possible. Too much focus on the deck crews and pilots :(

  • From a VET from Panama invasion- God Bless The USA

and God Bless Our Fighting Men and Women !!

  • WTH? An officer just asked why they have to pay for their food? HAH! At least he's not enlisted. Then they take that food allowance out of your check every fortnight. At least he can choose the meals he wants to eat, and therefore pay for throughout the day. Besides, is he hurting for money? He's an officer, of course not.

  • When you're on a boat and all that's around you is a vast overabundance of water that has no sign of life as far as you can see, as well as the fact that there could be sharks, jellyfish, or low temperatures in the water, you have no choice other than to follow orders. Still, carrier life is better than frigate life. I'll never trust a chief with my life though, they can burn in hell and die alone. They'll throw anyone under the bus just to improve their fitrep. Ships are ran like plantations.

  • what a bunch of brainwashed idiots..workin there asses off for a lost cause....

  • @toddy592 You have no idea what you're talking about. They're defending our country. Regardless the cause they are doing their job. They are defending your right to sit on your ass and criticize people who are actually making something of their life... Please think of the sacrifice our troops make before you go and slam them.

  • @arksinlondon Defending your country? from whom? Who the fuck is left?

  • @toddy592 it's far from a lost cause. thanks to people like these, the US elite has won its war against the rest of the world by seizing the planet's most essential resource, oil.

  • @toddy592 Did you not learn from this program? Some don't believei n the cause some do. They just know they have a job to do. I never got this "everyone in the military is brainwashed." argument. Why? Because the follow orders? They have to. Or else they'll get in trouble.

  • i leave for basics in two weeks, cant wait to be a sailor

  • @MrSnobby24 well she doesn't think about it a lot. she leaves that up to the politicians.

  • this is the most honest documentary about the military i've ever seen... it doensn't pretend its all glamour and fun, but points out a lot of the nitty gritty, bullshit that goes along with it.... great program

  • @jumar1281 Did you ever see OVER THERE? That is the most honest thing I have ever seen.

    Greets from germany!

  • I love this show :) I'm a future Airman, but I still love the Navy!

  • Can someone tell me if there is a "Barber" carrier in the Navy?

  • Seems strange to me that so much of this work, particularly the deck-cable work is manual. Cannot it be more automated and safe?

  • whats the song at 9 mins

  • @mike7503 Sniff n' Tears - Driver's Seat

  • seriously, where are the damage controlmen, hull techs and gsm s?

i know its a carrier but come on, with out these guys the ship would fall apart.

there is 10 episodes in all im just sayin dedicate one out of 10 to the snipe jobslol.

thanks for adding the series by the way

  • pay for your food? what's that supposed to mean?

  • @inthezone07 Officers have to pay for thier meals on the ship. Enlisted don't.

  • After six months of hearing that jet noise, your probably ready to slap the tard out someone

  • great fun from UK

  • what kinda of jets are the navy currently using? f-15's?

  • @specop3 I don't think they use the F-15. They are using the F-18s and will be using F-35s in the future.

  • @specop3 The Air force uses F-15s.

  • @specop3 the primary jet for the Navy is the F/A-18 Hornet

  • i really like this program. I was in the Army, but I suppose the military is pretty much the same all around. Only duties and scenery changes I suppose.

  • The U.S. Navy is amazing! If I knew it was this awesome, I would never have joined the Royal Navy and got my ass over to the States.

  • @Sevenoneight7 how is life in the royal navy?

  • @wooite Fun, but the U.S. Navy have bigger ships (gets boring on small ships), shops on the ships and they don't have to wear useless fire-proof suits all the time - like we do. Also, their equiptment is newer and actually works... lol

  • It's a shame PBS got into the reality-tv genre, rather than keeping it a documentary.

  • lmao 6:45 circle of trust hahaha

  • Alex Dietrich is HOT! =)

  • Why don't they put sound barriers for the sleeping area?

  • I was on Forrestal from 88-92 and based on my experience it seems impossible from an engineering standpoint. The berthings are generally located in areas that really cant be used for operational purposes. When I first got to Forrestal I slept in the V1 (flight deck personnel) berthing which was located directly under the #2 arresting wire. That really sucked until I got use to it, I slept with earplugs and eventually only F14s would wake me up.

  • i don't miss chow hall food. i don't miss the chow hall, the early morning formations, the smell of the head, the haircuts, the silly uniforms they made us wear, needing a chit to masturbate, morning colors, the orders, etc. i do miss some of my old friends though.

  • i'm down here at corry, and the other day i got goose bumps when the blue angels flew over, i will never cease to be mystified by jet flight....it's just so incredible.....i'd give anything to be sitting in the back seat.

  • screw the back seat. i wouldn't mind a turn at flying one myself.

  • Believe me, you are so tired at the end of your shift. Once you hit your rack you will sleep through anything. I know I have been on two carriers. You get use to it quick.

  • For you soldier that are doing what is right for the country is great! Problem is that the girlfriends or wives at home are lonely. :) Wonder what their up to when your gone for 1 or more years. Must be double hard having to worry about not just your job but also what's going on behind your backs. .

  • not rilly brah, see, most of us are moral people unlike liberals who think anything and everything is ok.......some of us and our families have high moral standards, try it some time......

  • @mayhemlee lol.

  • orly. then what's the explanation for the pre-marital sex and teen pregnancy rate remaining about equal between conservatives and liberals? as does the divorce rate.

  • dude that's not cool

  • that must suck having to hear jets every god damn day. How the hell are you suppose to be productive if you can't get any sleep! lol

  • Dude, they're loud but they sleep under decks and decks of heavy machinery and metal

  • you quickly reach a point where you're extremely tired. that point then results in sleep.

  • @BeyondChange it's called suck it up and work through it, be a man or a woman with strong will, again, something liberals don't know much about, easier to complain about the working conditions and have big government get you out of it and hand you a free lunch.

  • Just a reminder, in the Navy and Marine Corps, they're "Aviators", Continental Airlines and the Air Force have "pilots".

  • whats the difference between aviators and pilots?

  • Oh see cute!, not the redhead!

  • i love when theyre all listening to the jets taking off and landing, im sure at first its awesome, but probably gets old pretty quick, living under an airport sounds fun for like 10 minutes.

  • Im all for Women advancing into combat arms roles, if they wanna and they can by all means.

  • i was in the USMC the beat blackhawk pilot i flew with was a female...... some of the best snipers in the world r women. I was 0311 .... Females can be r great killers

  • Any women that flies a jet does not need to be messed with imo...cars are bad enough.

  • You don't drive a jet, you fly a jet!

  • lol yet we love to call pilots "drivers"

  • Intelligent Women. That is what we call in the business an oxymoron.

  • ummm boat food....

i miss rock hard biscuits, no gravy in the world could make that stuff soft again.

  • In many ways, women are very good pilots - in fact maybe superior in stamina in many ways.

  • They say most women have better focus.

  • They can also withstand G-Forces better than men when flying fighters.

  • I'm not sure I agree. Where'd you here that? That would be neat if they could though, me being a girl and all. I thought I heard in some documentary (Operation Red Flag or something like that) that short and stocky people delt with it better than than tall and slender.

  • Women have been shown since men started walking the earth that they can multi-task more as opposed to males. This would make a female aviator superior with all that happens in today's cockpits where attention is called for in so many ways and at the same time.

  • 10:14 "a carrier landing is kind of like having sex during a car accident..." hahahahahaha

  • NICE

  • I was in the NAVY 87-93. Where are the shows about the ENGINE ROOM GUYS?the people that make Fresh water? Dont see the sun for 30 days? SNIPES!!!

THE DIRTY JOBS OF THE NAVY!!!!!!!!!!!

the A?C guys AC@R guys WE NEVER got a pat on the back...................

  • You did your job?...thats all that matters..and I thank you.

  • @Q4JULY33063

As an MC (combination of JO/PH/LI), it's been my personal commitment to make sure that people other than the pilots and high-ranking officers get recognition. Of course, if I had control of this show.....

  • @Q4JULY33063 they talk about the engine room guys later in the show

  • @Q4JULY33063 Engine rooms in modern nuclear powered aircraft carriers are classified.

unless you are rated and cleared for that section.

Even the XO is not privy to all information concerning operations .

need to know , and everything works perfectly.

Only a free country and proud people could make it work.

The American people operate 14 aircraft carriers.

If all countrys on earth declared war against the USA we would win without question.

  • @ArmedAmerican88 Yes true, that's why you still can't get the taliban?

Oh, and let me take you back to 'nam? A couple of farmer kids who are smarter then the USA army?

  • @ArmedAmerican88 you would not win. your foreign oil supplies would stop immediately. if you tried to take the oil by force, those countries would blow up their own oil installations. without foreign oil, America, despite its power, would grind to a halt within a few weeks.

you could launch nukes or bomb people if you wanted to, but i don't see how that would get you any more oil.

  • @Withnail1969 The U.S. has a 12 month oil reserve.

  • @Withnail1969 Alright people USA only gets 2% of its oil from middle east, we get most from Mexico and Canada, so stop saying the war is for us oil, its for the world economy, and the terrorist want to blow them up, basic wreck their own economy which would affect most of the world, so knock it off with this war for oil crap, we can't just leave the middle east alone, the longer we wait the harder it is, world economy includes the world, not just the major powers, we ignore them and were stupid

  • @DarkFenix34512 2%? Go back to school. Size of known oil reserves in Iraq and Kuwait = 194 billion barrels; in Saudi Arabia and the Emirates 255 billion barrels; in the U.S. including Alaska 26 billion barrels. Iraq and Kuwait sit upon 20 percent of the world's known oil; Saudi Arabia and the Gulf Emirates sit upon another 25 percent; the U.S. upon only two percent. If U.S. oil consumption were to be supplied from U.S. production alone, then U.S. reserves would last just over four years.

  • @DarkFenix34512 So it's 23% of U.S> oil comes from the middle east

  • @ArmedAmerican88 "If all countrys on earth declared war against the USA we would win without question." You sound more like you were born in '98 rather than '88.

  • @ArmedAmerican88

that is a ridiculously stupid claim. "if all countrys on earth declared war on the USA we would win without question"

you have been watching to much TV and you have little idea of Americas real standing in the world. fighting china alone would be a close call, add Russia and you have lost. Europe and you're annihilated. and lets not forget the middle east and india.

    don't be so naive.

  • @matthew181 If nukes stay out of the equation: the only issue we would have with China is running out of ammo. Russia would be a virtual cakewalk in their current state provided they do not become energized. Europe would be tough going. The middle east would be the easiest of all.

Mind you, I'm not talking about occupation or vs the populace, merely military vs military.

Our biggest asset, however, is in our reserve of manufacturing capabilities and especially our well educated workforce....

  • @Q4JULY33063

First to have to get on before the ship sails and last to get off when it hits port... The guys running the power plant.

And we had the worst berthing spaces on the ship...

  • @Q4JULY33063 was it worth joining the navy

  • @Q4JULY33063 "Where are the shows about the ENGINE ROOM GUYS?" You're asking this after watching only two episodes? They go into the engine room / reactor area in the next episode. jesus.

  • @Q4JULY33063 well there wasn't anything about Corpsman or Medical..so

  • i think i'm in love with the female pilot Alex xD

  • Go get her

  • @BLAZETANGO oh man... me too.

  • great ...

  • Great Series!
