  • haters gonna hate. My friends and I did Electric conversions on virgin chassis for rock crawling, we can creep along for quite awhile roughly 20 minutes on brushless systems, my friends use airplane motors and turn the shaft down to fit the truck pinions. Most of the city parks around here will not let internal combustion driven vehicles in unless you buy a permit to play. If you want to play for free you have Electric or pay to run on a designated track for internal combustion engines.

    i actually got a fast swap system. i can swap between brushless and nitro in 30 min.

  • @dsmdeegen cool i have a e maxx with the stock brrushed system in it and a t maxx 3.3 they both haul but i think i like nitro just a little beter because of no charging baterys but then again i have never used a brushless system.

    I also converted it. i'm running it on a 3s lipo, but i'm thinking of buying another 3s battery to run it on 6s, is that to much?

    Are you still using the electri clutch?

    i don't like the clutch, but when i put a normal gear on the motor, the spur gear is bald with in seconds. and were can i get the robinson steal gears?

  • i got a revo plat and a e revo bl and i find the e revo better for bl and the revo plat for racing

  • i have not locked it, but i have installed robinson racing hardened steel gears. highly recommended :)

  • does the center diff give u unloading problems on the front wheels. Meaning the front wheels just ballon all the power away ultimately slowing the truck, its happening to me, thinking of locking the diff any suggestions? Thanx

  • ive changed the oil in the center diff to a super thick oil (ofna diff lock lube) @ 800k.

    ive also taped the inside of the wheel with duck tape.

    i have no more problems with ballooning. the truck is VERY stable at high speed

  • no. you have to lock the tranny in second to get reverse. dont need reverse ;)

  • to all who plan to convert a revo with center diff:

    ur gonna need steel gears.

    and ofna diff lock lube (800k) in the center diff.

  • i replaced them after the conversion. i trashed the original nylon gears twice in a week, afer that i installed Robinson Racing gears. never had a problem since :)

  • i have a center diff in mines, but i dont think i'll try anything more than a 3s...im trying to see if my hobby shop will let me drive mine revo against traxxas e-revos.

    yes the revo conversion was a nice and easy job :)

  • how exactly can you have the servo for the brake, and the esc on the same channel for the throttle? How dos that work?

  • you use a y-harness to split the signal from the reciever to the esc and the brake servo.

    program the esc to have no reverse. u cant have reverse anyway because of the two speed tranny. if you want to remove the brake servo and use the motor for braking u have to use a pinion, not the electri clutch, you also have to mod the tranny, by locking it in second gear.

  • it actually sounds like a better idea to use the engine braking, and then have reverse. There is probably a reason most rtr's only have one gear.

    How do you lock it in second gear? If its in second, can you have reverse?

  • how does the tekno kit work for you? and does it use the original clutch bell assembly?

  • the kit is awsome, except the velcro batt straps. they are rubbish.

    i used the original clutch bell for a while, worked flawlessly!! i currently use a long schank pinion, works perfect to.

    the kit is solid!

    but im planning to sell my revo. with trans/rec, brushless motor and nitro engine

  • Your LiPo is not HardCase? Do ya know that LiPos explode if you make a hole on them? Small rock might beenough...

  • ive been using flightpower high end lipos for a long time now, never had any problems other than 1 cell that decided to just die... no explosion!!

  • sweet!! cant wait. yea my original revo project i had it was BB now im doing a BL setup just like yours. i see you have the tekno conversion... the battery holder does it hold the 5s good or is it like barely gripping it?? (velcrow) if its good do you think a 6s would fit in it aswell?

  • the batt tray is ok for 5s and 6s. the tekno velcro is not good. get some heavy duty velcro :)

    Your truck is completely awsome.

    In my opinion the only thing I wouldn't do is use the Feigao motor. I think that the Neu / Castle 2200 KV is more powerful.

    I have another question:

    -Does is better to have the 19mm extended wheelbase kit or the RPM True Track A-Arm (If you know it)????

  • hi, the feigao did not like 6s. i fried it when i ran it on 6s, so now im running the neu/castle 2200kv combo. its fantastic!

    i really like the handling that comes with the extended wheelbase. and ive only broken an arm once.

    i also recomend steel gears for 6s power. ive rebuilt my tranny 3 times... dont wanna do that again. and the center diff is also a weak. its leaky, even with superthick diff lock lube innit

  • Does is necessary a kit for the single steering setup? I saw in the video that those steering parts are not the stock ones because are blue.

  • no you dont need the blue alu parts.

    but i recomend it for a stronger and more durable setup.

  • guys, i actually got the best of both worlds,

    ive made a system that makes it possible to swap between brushless and nitro in less than 30 min!

    this way i can run both nitro and lipo, as i like both!!

    and i like the feel of the steel chassie over plastic e-revo.

    a PE is a bit overkill for bashing.... i admit that ;)

  • because buying all the upgrades it comes with you would spend more than a regular revo.

  • because electric is the way to go now a days in some cases you can have more HP and you will have better torque spend less time tuning and better run times and LESS NOISE

  • true but the revo is two speed and by the time you get the e-revo and got brushless and things you will pay more for it than converting it and selling the things you dont need after the conversion

  • first its spelled torque and second the revo chassis is much stronger than the e-revo chassis and its much easier to work on than the e-revo

    and the revo 3.3 is an excellent truck to convert to brushless!
