yes I have the studio version. its on the france promo called "3 titres inedits". the cd including two other tracks ("happiness"and "pretty mary k", both as acoustic/atlernate studio version).
I was surprised to see that he decided to do this live! I thought it would've been one of those "too high, know what I mean" songs (if you listen to oodles of live Elliott bootlegs as I do then you know what I'm referring to). Some Elliott album songs are either just too high or have too many breaths for him to want to play them live. So, this was nice to see!!! Beautiful!
All of his lyrics utilizing films, photographs, TV shows, etc. as metaphors for memories always get to me. "Skip to the scene where we meet and roll the song." What a unique way to capture that horrible melancholy feeling of looking back on relationship memories that are long gone. (Assuming that's what he meant, of course. One can never be positive lol.)

I miss a second guitar on this song. The way the studio version sounds is awesome cause there are two guitars.

@Vamphaery i always thought he meant when we meet (as in the future)
georged2011 11 months ago
@georged2011 Could be! "Skip to" might mean fast forward from the present, rather than leafing through memories of the past.

It is on the 25 Titres Comp and also one of the Figure 8 Singles... there is a harpsichord on the studio version and it will make you cry! <3
