You do a beautiful job with the weave. Do you do a video on your frosting? It seems to be a terrific consistency. I will look over your other videos to see if you have done one on the prep of the frosting.
@lindalu47 Oh thank you so much. I have the recipe on my website if you want take a look. There are two there one is the Italian meringue the other I called the easy buttercream icing, which is the one I used in this video.
@RubyTeaCakes The basketweave is one of the first things I learned and it is not difficult to do. I prefer the star tip becasue it gives it more dimension. Thanks!
Do u use med. consistency icing for the basketweave? I have done this before I think my icing was too thin cause it fell down when i piped it on the cake.
Yes, the icing must not be too runny. What type of icing did you use? Buttercream works well but if it gets too warm it will get runny. Possibly the heat of your hands on the pastry bag made it warm.
Thanky for showing us! I wondered for a long time how this is done!

How do you end the basketweave? Every time I do it you can see where I end. Do you need to do something special to start the weave?
birdybird7775 1 year ago
@birdybird7775 Good question. I just make sure that part is in the back. But I do make one line up to cover the seem.
