Way to go with this video! I went to the University in the 1990s. I'm in shock at what has happened to that neighbourhood. The homes were beautiful then but boarded up homes only bring crime. If the neighbourhood can't be restored, then the only alternative is to tear the homes down. Get rid of the unsafe conditions and tear them down now.
3/ If the city allows the Bridge company permission to demolish without going through proper procedures, the same procedures Mr. Flood or anyone else would have to complete, then there is no "equality for all Windsorites", as Mr. Flood states. Just influence tied to wealth and power.
I guess that would be perfectly fine with Mr. Flood and Mr. Payne.
2/ Now he's demanding that the Bridge Company be allowed to tear down 110 or so houses WITHOUT formal proposals, just because the Bridge Company has made itself such a nuisance in the neighborhood. "This is not about the Bridge", his cohort Hilary Payne has constantly stated.
Tearing down these derelict homes is a necessity, for the betterment of all no matter what the land is used for in the future. The city shouldn't prevent the demolition or eventual greenspace that has been proposed in the interim of the bridge controversy. Land on both sides of the border, held by both our governments and the buffoon are held hostage while the cards are dealt. Our democracies have allowed and propogated such inactions for decades and shall continue to with corporate influence.
I agree with tearing down these homes..I dont know what the next logical step will be, possibly much needed student housing for the University of Windsor or possibly new housing for residents, a shopping mall strip or even a greenway park for the current residents? But for now, as evidenced by the graffiti, broken bottle's and needles lying around, this area has become a breeeding ground for people with bad intentions and must be cleaned up..
Tearing down these homes is NOT THE RIGHT ANSWER. We do not need immediate prosperity but LONG TERM success. Mr. Francis is a zealot and I agree he is doing next to nothing to help our great city, but demolition won't solve anything. Does Mr. Flood support the twin expansion that is supposed to destroy that neighbourhood? Because that is an equally blind step toward a sad Windsor.
Sad times in Windsor for sure, there is no denying that. We can collectivly change our city's direction if everyone got out to vote in this municiple election. The Edgar regime has done much damage and it's time to getting back to being a productive and pro-active community.
Just the type of farcical propaganda we've come to expect from the Ambassador Bridge.

1/ Mr. Flood sells several rental properties to the Bridge Company.
He asks for the city's permission to tear down a perfectly good house on the corner of Donnelly and Indian that he owns.
He complies with the city's requirements about formally stating his intentions as to what he wants to do with the land.
He builds a huge mega-rental with the city's (and therefore the neighbours) blessing.....
