What I find interesting about this show is the way Nimoy goes out of his way to mention the holocaust because he's Jewish himself. Yes, Leonard, we know that it happened, but it's completely irrelevant to the argument. If you're talking about the nazi plunder that you're "in search of", then stick to the issue. I gather that you aren't trying to argue about nazis escaping with jewish gold teeth and the like.
This was a great series.intelligent.creative,and highly polished in the production end,the stuff on TV today is crappy fluff.glad this was uploaded and thanx
If I remember correctly, there was a find of stolen Nazi art recovered as recently as 10 years ago. I think it was quite significant too, in the sheer amount that was located.
Sorry for the lateness of my reply, but I believe they were greek treasures, including statues. The boy that located the find actually saw the head of a staute that was exposed from the elements at the base of a retaining wall. It was a huge story at the time and I am sorry to be so vague, perhaps someone else knows more about it than me.
The "In Search of" series was a good mix of topics. I don't think there is anything like this being made today even though the use of archive footage must have been quite cheap. Thanks for this. I actually remember this one!
Every now and then this show would cover a topic that was actually historic. This is one of them

Martin Bormann's skeleton was found in Berlin in 1972. Why does Nimoy keep talking about him as though he's still alive?

@JimmySmers In 1972, it was still uncertain it was Martin Bormann's skeleton.

Unsolved mysteries came close. Interesting, but not as in depth as in search of.
