In 2008 while at the US Nationals in Indy, a fan had a "1320 forever" sign at the NHRA Today show. I asked him why. He said the crew chiefs could tune the car better so it wouldn't explode as much near the quarter mile mark. Well, this guy was obviously a rocket scientist and I'm not sure why he wasn't working for a Top Fuel team. It is a fact that most nitro powered cars, when they have a problem, it will happen near the end. I'm old school, but if a 1000' keeps my friends safe , I'm all for it

Thewe cars have just under 10 times the hp a nascar has, and they are lighter. It was going 120mph faster than a nascar goe when it crashed. That was amazing. Tony may have had alot of injurys but without that rollcage/pod he would have died. I think rollcages should be put in normal road cars as that would reduce lots of deaths as that crash proves.

I saw this crash in Memphis when it happened.

The tree that is in the picture was cut down soon after. If you notice most tracks don't have these type of obstacles anymore. I had raced at this track in Super Gas( 9.90 Class) for a few years....

Tony came back in top form and his crew chief is about the best in Top Fuel at reading the track and the World Championships prove that..
