I saw this movie once years ago and was enchanted by it. I found it on youtube and was thrilled to finally have the chance to watch it again... Until i bitterly realised it was a musical travesty of that otherwise magical movie. If someone out there could load the good version, you'd make a virtual slave out of me and i would include you in my prayers for a month... at least.

GOOD NEWS. Sony is FINALLY releasing this on DVD with extras.  The project is finished. Release date is around Christmas.

Why the hell did they do that? Yuck!!! Singing!!! From the 70's!!!!!

They need to redo this WITHOUT SINGING!!!!!

I agree with flamethrower it is a great movie. Too bad its not being sold. I'm watching it at this very moment, and I'm loving the theme song! I too saw this when I was very young in the 70's, so I thank you for uploading this movie. I've never seen the 30's version. Is it any good?

You can get a region free wide screen dvd of it on ebay. I just received mine and it has scenes and songs that were not in the theatrical release.

That title song flying over the mountains is so strong for me it keeps the whole movie afloat until the echoing of it at the end when the hero disappears over the horizan.

This movie brought back wonderful memories when i was seven years old. I saw it in Syosset, long island with my father and older brothers. I was mystified by the story and loved the message of hope and peace for humanity despite our self destructive nature. I knew Peter Finch would make it back to Shangri La and his journey still haunts me thrity five years later.

So good that you posted this version of Lost Horizon. When I was 10, I closed the theatre in a small northern Iowa town after seeing the 1937 version over and over that day. I walked home in the snow that night, not on the sidewalk, but on the snow piled high on the sides. I was making my return to Shangri La. I'm still looking for it, and now suspect each of us will find it deep inside ourselves. So many messages in that movie. Thanks again.

I am grateful that you posted this 1973 version of Lost Horizon. I saw the 1937 version when it first came out. I was ten years old. I sat through many showings & left the theatre at closing. I was living in northern Iowa & it was in the middle of the winter, so I walked through the night to get home, but not on the side walk, on the snow piled on each side. I was on my way back to Shangri La. I'm still searching for it & suspect that it is inside of each of us. There are so many messages here.
