become stronger , form a new peoples party where young youth get the jobs and use their modern mindset in government ,leave the eu ,build an army and strong economy up to stop them french and german bullies who dictate the union ,get our resources back and overall become powerful and self sufficent - its possible if you have the mindset and the optimistic people to do it .
i realised so many politicians in ireland are all related in some way or other to pevious office holders, so we get what we deserve from the types we elect,.but i guess that cronyism goes on ever place, it becomes no different than dictatorship in a oerverse way,,..
@subsoil007 . 'idiot'? Just what are your qualifications to make such a ludicrious statement.? You might be good enough to outline your academic qualifications - you utter buffoon.
All trivial nonsense. Down with the immoral monetary system. Pits everybody against each other and guised as healthy competition. Coloured pieces of paper out of thin air, backed by nothing, with interest attached. Oh it's human nature, bullshit. (Conditioning) It's the nature of a few, the majority are not. The good peoples day in the sun will come. Peace
this man is an idiot and a hyprocrit, he is suggesting lower paid workers, both public and private sector take huge pay cuts,he makes no emphasis that we have too many TDs or that the seanad should be abolished.. we need more gardai and nurses,we need a low tax to get businessses going again, not useless tds or senators who cant get elected as a td.
@corcaighrebel eh he got paid well i presume. so???? dont tell me you would do it for nothing. if they didnt pay him thats not going to "save the economy". and a stock broker...so???doesnt mean he is a greedy money-seeking machine. my father is a former stock broker, and foresaw this recession and knows many stockbrokers who are not the stereotypical image of one. you want to see corruption, examine the public service administration. no private firm could stayin business wasting what they waste
i disagree with the poster below..these people were drafted in because of their previous experience in compiling a report like this but their ideas are out of date and from another time and place..this is the major problem in this country that we still expect civil servants with 1950's mentalities to get us out of this mess plus the level of corruption just can't be forgotten about and let slide no matter how many times FF call for 'patriotism'..get rid of the FF crooks and restore confidence..
If he was paid 80 euros a day or 800 euros a day is of little matter. The content of the report would be no less relevant. I would be paying him 800 euros a day right now to be working on the next report and be asking him to identify savings of 8+ billion 800 euros a day to help save the country from a meltdown is a bargain and a meltdown is what will be coming our way if we continue borrowing in the manner that we are at present
80% of his report was good and has to be implemented yet this government has no balls and will only implement 5% and we will all sit back when the whole country goes on strike and the IMF is called in
YES vote = no way back, we can't undo mistakes made in the treaty or the EU, our say in EU is halved. Some countries say is doubled.
NO vote = we are still in the EU, like we are now, and the EU must be more accountable to the people of Europe. It stops the runaway power of the EU parliament and its gravy train expenses.
The mature thing is to stand up and tell EU to correct the problems, not to give in to the accusing tut-tutting of EU politicians trying to tell us we should be embarrassed.

ths is what happens when a economy is solely based on a property boom. it is all our own fault.
so we can whinge all we like. We might learn for next time, might I say.

no ones debating that! It is obvious we were overreliant on the property bubble and that it would burst some day.
