  • Yay, now we can do it!

  • @bernudysbrasileiro look whos talking!

  • @mipsterr1 do you know me?

  • @mipsterr1 your telling everyone else to get a life by not looking on the internet, you're looking on the internet on how to ctach a wave.

  • i just came on this to look at the comments

  • where is this

  • whats with the hate comments... hes just trying to give you pointers for whenever u do surf.. goodess.

  • @TayDesigns Nah, I just come here to laugh at the face of people like you.

  • hah this helped a little bit

  • 1:28 yeah THATS WHAT UR SUPPOSE TO TAKE!!!!!!!

  • @bernudysbrasileiro very true bud! but the second best thing when your landlocked in a place where the average lake wave is no higher than a squirrels paw, is to watch surf vids. Its amazing how much the body learns subconsciously through watching repeptitive motions. But you are absolutely right :)

  • @soapbox187 Yeah, I live in a giant Town: São Paulo-Brazil, And all the rivers are polluted.. I watch surf vids instead of LEARN how to..

  • Haha hez got a funny voice :P

  • I am learning by going to the beach everyday and just trying to catch a wave. My best words for anyone who reads this try try and try again =)

  • @bernudysbrasileiro This is tips and pointers, and it's raining right now beach isnt my best option

  • @123abc586 Sorry mate, I surf even when it's raining

  • the best way to learn it, is just grab your board and go to the sea.

the sea will teach you everything

  • What was that all about? A dude wiping out while trying to take off sideways...

  • @BulletRaven lol

  • another shitty expertvilliage video

  • my fav part is 2:00 - 2:03

  • boogie board? that's for tourists, get a no.6, custom x, or at least a wave rebel...

  • learn how to skate ,its easier, there are thousands of sharks, germs, and a lot of mean locals, surfing could kill you! you dont want to drown do you???

  • @toyomore drowning is for people who don't know how to swim beside shark don't attack surfer if they are not bothered beside local are not mean if your not a kook but the germ part their every where not just the ocean

  • @MASSD2 what?

  • @bernudysbrasileiro Ahmen!! cowarbungar!

  • Hey, I learned how to snowboard off of YouTube. It is a good place to learn the basics....especially if you don`t have an Ocean to practice in. :P

  • I wish i could surf really bad but i live in fricken North Dakota, USA and their are NO OCEANS!!!

  • @CedarRed12 try wakeboarding in the great lakes hahaha

  • @bernudysbrasileiro it can't be as easy as going to a beach and try surfing for the first time ever, i really wanna learn to surf but i look on here so i know what i'm supposed to do,its better than screwing up in front of a bunch of random ppl

  • i had trouble with my snaps howd i get 2 this .... tutorial?

  • those waves are HUGE!!!!!!!!!! :p

  • this video isnt teaching me how to surf, its teaching me how to fall!

  • lol thought this clip was gonna show the dude catching a wave... or at least catching a wave in the end??lol

  • whats in it for the ladies who surf?? x

  • Surfing gets bitches!!!

  • OMGD DUDE! go to the ocean and surf is like 2nd nature after a few falls

  • man datz mess i have 2 drive 1hour everyday to surf but itz worth it

  • @zac1858 good thing that i asked for your opinion aye?

  • @Negativecreep0 couldnt think of a better reason

  • blah! I can't stand that mormon commercial ...blah blah blah...and I'm a mormon...GOOD FOR YOU!

  • LEARN BALANCE AND STYLE..... RIDE AND SURF QUICK SURF THE ENDLESS WAVE...

  • listen up buds the best way to get great at surfing is to surf everything and not to be picky with waves or conditons...my dad told me when i was a little kid,if a surfer can get good at surfing shitty waves cause thats what comes most then when he surfs in good waves he will be awesome at it......if you would like an example of this look at all east coast pro surfers and how there better then west coast pros...

  • @chaynewalshful dope i leave in the east coast

  • @chaynewalshful dope i live in the east coast...and good advice, i never thought about it that way...but it sounds true | got anymore advice email me

  • One of my Fins gashed open my foot today.. waves were brutal. lol..

  • the first time i surf i was like pro i'm very good in balancing

  • @krittee123 balancing is semi.... i have poor balance and ive been surfing all my life....placement is everything in surfing ...were you are on the wave were you are on the board.

  • y do i feel like im the only girl here reading some of these comments

  • It seems for me that i had a problem catching waves. all last summer i caught nothing and then i relized that the problem was that my feet were up in the air and not flat on the board. its all about balancing your weight so when the wave comes it can catch your weight and take you with it.

  • I'd prefer diving, trust me its way better with the girls when you show them how you dive.

  • @Negativecreep0 you're the man!

  • @Negativecreep0 haha i love it!!

  • utt oh...the turtle......i hate that....

  • @Negativecreep0 lol XD sounds like a plan

  • @TheFlourish13 somebody sent it to me

  • wordddddddd

  • not trying to be mean but that video did not show me any way to surf

  • you push him down the line . thats why he fall

  • i learned when i was 4

  • @Negativecreep0 CREEEEEEEEEPY.....

  • exactly starting bodyboarding around 7 years old...

  • learned when i waz 11

  • @Negativecreep0 ahaha sad but tru

  • @dbadgones he said master

  • word i learned how to longboard in 2 days and i never boarded before so i think learnin to surf should take me at most 2 weeks

  • @ajcoffee i learned to skate in one day and snowboard in 2 any estimates on surfing?

  • when he tried to stand up he put his hands on the edge, ur suppose to put them in the center

  • @Earthy182 hahaha

  • i want my 2:23 min back!

  • good job sean

  • who is he talking to?

  • wtf was that???

  • Lol 20 years to learn how to surf? Who would take 20 years to learn to surf? I would have stopped at the first month....

  • this video is just a guy rooking it.... sweet..

  • Can someone help me im having trouble turning. I paddle correctly towards the wave but when its ready to turn it takes me like 30 seconds and i get tipped over someone hel

  • rofl

  • you believe that 15 years is a late age to start learning to surf?

  • @XxEzpezimen18xX haha i hope not because im 15 and i got my first surfboard yesterday, cant wait to give it a go next weekend, but iv been skating for 2 years now, hopefully that will give me a little head start in balance :D

  • hehe Well ,lets brand new surfboard, my friend. :)

  • @Negativecreep0 bring candy and puppies

  • @nativepimp08 i agree except for the fact i broke my board

nose when i nose dove into a sandbar

  • @Negativecreep0 haha funny person you is

  • @nativepimp08 definitely xD I went surfing for the first time like 2 weeks ago and there was just wave upon wave battering us when we were going out, but once your out there and you've caught one standing up just come naturally :]

  • hey are you crazyy 20 years to learn prff thats pure fail!!

  • is it easyer to surf with a longboard or is the same dificult shit?

  • @suenoshumedos longboards are much more easier then shortboards bro. you cant learn how to surf on a shortboard

  • @xwakebrdfool182x when you're advanced longboards are harder bro :) they hardly turn

  • I'm just getting back in the water after 7 years, it feels so good, but I'm paying my dues right now lol.

  • I'm 6'4" and my uncle gave me a longboard as my first board. I've only attempted surfing a couple times so far and I suck ass. It's embarrassing to go out there with my friends and I find it really difficult when there are alot of surfers out. They become a big distraction because I worry about crashing into them.

  • does it help if you can skateboard

  • @brokenbmx13f , yes it does

  • @brokenbmx13f NOT REALLY! its totally different, i skate and well there really is a huge difference! but in terms of style building well it will get to u faster if u know some skate

  • @brokenbmx13f yeah cuz u wud alrdy have more balance and experience on it

  • you must stand right up, don't bend to your side - since you're not mastering it yet.

  • 0:38 ugh i ccant watch +.+

  • Great encouragement for us all. I too would like to learn on a boogieboard first.

It feels safer and also is a lot quicker to turn like a little skate board. But much harder. (longer board easier to learn with, go smaller as you feel comfortable)

    watch?v=Aq-Y4ROaX6Q

  • I'm 11, and I'm working on surfing

  • first time sufer love it but not very good at standing up any tips from anyone will be apreciated

  • @ryan28829 pop up in one motion! go straight from ur hands to ur feet, not ur knees!

  • @jakelowe100 ah thats probably what i'm doing wrong thnx for the tips

  • is the commentary a piss take

"watch ur head ooooohhhh nooooo" lol

  • surprisingly ive got to stand up on my third try.. lucky me heh

  • ye what surboard did u use?

because even before i like surfing i could stand up on a longboard (they r so easy)

  • thanks preciate it

  • if your starting off just get a long board with a soft top like an 8'0 or bigger. when you see the wave forming start paddling. once you feel the wave take you, do a quick push up and balance. it's just repetition.

  • im tryin to learn to surf. anybody got any tips or advice for a beginner?

  • Pay out for a couple of one to one lessons. Expensive but far better than board schools or trying to teach yourself. After that just practice practice practice.

  • ur teaching ahead of the students. keep it simple. its longterm

  • ...and you can type! Well done! :)

  • i think all of you should get into skateboarding or hiking or something else.

    too many surfers anyway

  • not in my country theyre not

  • only a retard would take 20 years to learn to surf!

  • wow this is a really bad video

  • you dont belive it but i strted surfing with short bord omg!!

  • i road the board stood up my first try !

  • woah steady but everyone starts like that no one catches there first wave i help out at a surf school in the summers and hes tryying to stand up if thats his first time go him!

  • hope this guy didn't pay for this lesson. "turn 360 and face the beach"? "let's practice facing the beach"? What a load of crap lol.

  • maybe not even months more like 2 3 hours

  • i dont it would take 20 years you would half to really suck maybe couple of months

  • when i learned how to surf i was on an 8 foot board and i just paddled out to the line up and road down the lie on my 2nd try. You learn faster if you start that way.

  • i have uncles old bords to learn wit and they are 6ft. is that bad to learn with?

  • it depends how tall you are, but a genreral rule is to start bigger and decrease the size as you get better (if thats what you want to do, I prefer longboarding) Starting with a 8-9' foamie is best, then progress to the same size hard board. I hope this helps!

  • i stood up my first time to lol

  • im just starting to surf on a 6"0 soft board its harder than i thought but its really awesome

  • i started on a 7"4 i toke me 2 days to get stood up, even then i was only just up!

  • I'm lucky to have the natural instinct... my first time surfing I was cruising across the face and riding on the outside. I see other people having lots of trouble and I can't relate with them. I've taught 3 friends how to surf on 8-foot foamies and they are all the same way- my friend has been twice and he can already noseride.

  • foam boards r wat they give to pussies who are to afraid to ride hard boards and if cant catch a wave with one of those boards then ur just retarded

  • ive been surfing four times first two times with a longboard.

then i got a shortboard and today i mastered balancing/sitting on it as well as duckdiving. paddling and just about everything.

i was catching plenty of waves but i was having a bit of trouble standing up but im getting alot closer its so much fun. =]

  • ure name is awesome

  • yes it is my brotha, yes it is.

  • actually my friend came surfing with me for this first time and was riding waves in within 15 minutes

  • i know surfing is really easy i learned how to do it the first wave i tried

  • im a retard because of where i live. yeah that makes great sense, but i bet that i could out surfboard or snowboard you any day, ive been snowboarding since i was 5 and im 22 now, ive been surfing since i was 6.

i go snowboarding weekly to the indoor slopes around here. i have travled the world to surf and snowboard in the best places available.

You are the one who should stay out of the water.

  • How similar is surfing to longboarding (long skateboard)?

  • kind of

  • im a skateboarder, long boarder but primarily a surfer and id have to say they arent that similar i mean if you can carve really well on a long board down a hill i guess it helps kinda with getting the feel of carving a wave on a surfboard but other then that there almost different stories.

  • ummm if u think of it as similar then u can benefit from it, but u realy cant do anytricks with long boards :(

  • lol how could you not stand on a long board hahahah

  • i lerned how to surf at 10 years old but i stoped for about 3 years but now i know how to surf agen thanks.

  • Comment removed

  • i'm 14 years old and i like surfing very much, but i live inland. i really wanna learn to surf but we usually go for holidays to sea like Red sea. So i would surf just one time for two or three years. Is profitable to learn surf for me?i really love it. thx

  • same for me, but i get to go on holiday more often to surf locations, like now!

  • If you like it, do it.

  • asking if it is profitable isnt the right way to go about it.

ask yourself "do i enjoy it?"

if you do then go for it. i live in england and i travel 2 hours in the car almost every weekend to catch what little waves we have here. i love surfing.

i also snowboard as often as i can but thats even harder for me seeming as the only snow we get round here is about an inch of it...

  • i started very recently.

    BUT ive been boogieboarding forever

  • I'm 13 years old I surfed 2 times once with my mate and once with my schoolclass we took lessons that time but i already know how to surf in 2 times i'm going to get my own board soon :P

  • people start at 2 or 3 years old.... SURE

  • i started at 3..

  • haha did you surf on a flip-flop??

  • hahaha.. i surfed on a body board.. but i started everything early, i also started biking when i was 3.

  • i dowt ppl started at 2 years old

they probly would have only been walking for maybe a year and barley talk

    let alone swim/surf

  • swim swim oh no! ok! hilarious!

  • they need to puch him in earlier

  • These arent waves... spend a year on the north shore of oahu and then youll have a new definition of surfing

  • im just starting to learn in kodiak alaska

  • kooks shouldnt surf,

  • lol need a biger long board for you

  • I've only been 4 times... so I still obviously suck, but isn't that water far too shallow to learn in? I live in Tenerife, so I'm lucky I got a good place to learn to surf, but I doubt I could stand up in conditions like that.

  • 20 YEARS?! man youre a joke i learned it just in 1 week

  • 20 years to master. Not learn how to just stand up....

  • i seen 7 year olds being all pro... so i guess seven years minimum?

  • you've seen 7 year olds riding 40 foot waves out near a rocky shore? That's an example of mastering the sport. : /

  • fail

  • Its a 180 to face the beach not 360

  • i surfed for my first time today i only got on my knees and got feel for surfing before i stand up and i got caught in a rip tide but didnt know and got tired out it sucked , but that taught me you have to stay on the board the hard way.

  • Long Boards suck rofl

  • u are way to shallow in the water.you guys dont know how to surf.

  • then why are you looking up how to surf ?

  • haha pwnt

  • ahahahaa pure own.

  • 20 years to learn how to surf? gosh u gotta be kidding me...i am already 24 so it will have to be a bit faster, like hmm 3 years!

  • hahahaha "watch your head oh nooo"

  • lots of wannabes everywhere on youtube huh

  • how long did it take for you guys to stand up on a shortboard? comment plz...

  • Well standing up isn't the hardest part. The hard part about shorboarding for me was paddling fast enough at the right time and making the drop which is scary when its steep.

  • hahahahaha
