I think it was the husband's fault for introducing his wife the casino. I'm thinking they have been married for a while now (3 kids) that he should have know if his wife had addictive behaviors where she could become addicted to gambling. He should have never showed her. Initially it was his fault, but ultimately it became her fault because she continued to go on her own and started borrowing money from people to pay for her habit. It's sad that this habit is pretty common.
I think they need to change out the batteries in their smoke detector. The beeping sound is loud not to mention it's annoying and makes me jump because I don't expect to hear it.
In my opinion, even though it's $3000 - $5000 and not in the upwards of $100,000, it's still money that someone else had to work hard for. It doesn't matter that she borrowed the money from relatives ... it could have been money that her husband worked hard to earn. Money is money. Unless you are rich or was lucky enough to have large amounts of it, the majority of people have to WORK HARD TO EARN IT. :)
@maizoua87 Thank-you for sharing your thoughts with me. The reason for my commment was that I usually hear people say they lost $10,000 or $30,000 dollars at the casino, not something this low. And, I never really realize that there are people out there WORK HARD TO EARN IT b/c my husband and I both graduated from college and we make good money. When I show your comment to him, he laughed b/c he said $3-$5 thousand dollars is less than a car payment.
@maizoua87 According to this movie, it seems like both parents have good jobs. They have businesses of their own that was why when she called him up and said she's in trouble. I was expecting for her to say she lost $30,000 and not just $3000 - $5000. I laughed at it, but again, thanks for reminding me that there are poor people out there.
